Hotel Kristal - Liburnia

Tolle Position ganz vorne. Sehr sauberes, komfortables, freundliches Hotel mit nettem Personal. Halbpension ist ein wirklich gutes Angebot. Es lohnt sich, Zimmer mit Meerblick zu bekommen, da sie Panoramafenster haben, aber bitte beachten Sie, dass keines der Zimmer einen Balkon hat. Opatija ist eine attraktive, smarte Stadt.

My worst ever hotel experience. We where on a roadtrip holiday, and had booked this hotel because it had on site parking, i checked google maps to confirm, and even called the hotel in advance, to see if we had to make a reservation on parking, as we would arrive late in the evening, and we read that Opatija could be a bit bad with parking. They said "no problem, just come". We arrived at 21 in the evening, after a 700km drive from Munich, and when we arrived they had no available parking. There was a couple of spaces inside a gate beside the hotel, and we asked if we could park there, but no, that was for the employees, and i said that it would only be temprarly until the morning, so that we can sort out the parking issue, but no. They where not interested at all to help us, and only said that we had to find a space in the street. We ended up driving around the place for 1 1/2 hours, without finding a spot to park, went back in, and said that they need to come up with a solution, but no help, so it ended up with us turning around and driving back into italy, and found a hotel along the highway to get som sleep at 02 in the morning, after a total of 1000km driving that day. So my advice is : Just stay away from here.

I am a solo traveller in my 70,s .I was given a single room which was a box! I am not a large person ,but the loo and shower were so small that to get in you had to squeeze past the door hitting your back against the wall.then you had to pull the door past the loo climb over the the loo to get to the shower!,then close the door from the shower after the shower came the nerve racking return on a wet tiled floor!! as you can guess it was very slippery. I went to the manager and explained the danger of the wet floor ,and if I fell and injured myself I would sue. after a lot of discussion she reluctantly agreed to move me to another room with a larger shower. speaking to the receptionist next day he said that they had had complains before ROOM 524 Beware Next . if you want a sun lounger you have to pay 12 euros for the day!! I explained that I was at the hotel ,you still have to pay I was told .Just a note if you are a couple that need two sun loungers plus an umbrella per day it will cost you 30 euros extra a day THAT £25.80 EXTRA A DAY!!!! .A rip off beware Food at the hotel OK Don,t eat on the outside veranda as you have to share with the pigeons who will try and eat your Breakfast with you PS add £2.80 a day city tax

I have been very often in Opatija, this is one of my favorite hotels, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, I stayed in a very large sea view with a glass window that seems to be in the sea, a pity that in winter they are closed otherwise I would need of them even in winter, the pool is large and clean with good services offered.
