Hotel Pakaritampu

Amazing staff, great location and overall perfect stay at Ollantaytambo. The room was clean and spacious with great views. Hotel also has beautiful garden which is peaceful & overlooking the amazing mountains...great for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. Hotel is located a ~min walk from the train station to Machu Picchu which makes it very convenient. Walking distance to main square and local sights/ruins. Breakfast served early and has everything you need. Overall, excellent stay...special thanks to the front desk staff who was amazing. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a nice setting on the edge of town close to the train station. Our room was pretty basic with some hanging space, desk & chairs, in room safe, and free water and chocolates provided. No fridge or heating/cooling but plenty of blankets were provided. The wifi was very patchy but there was Direct TV with lots of channels on a small TV. Breakfast selection was ok.

Charming hotel at the foot of the surrounding green mountains. Beautiful garden grounds to stroll around. The staff were super cordial and professional. We had no issues leaving our luggage there. Another plus is that is walking distance to the train station that takes you to Machu Picchu. The only reason why I give it 4 stars and not 5 is due to the bed, it was on the harder side and the bathrooms could use an upgrade. Other than that a wonderful stay for my family and I.

Pakaritampu is perfect if you are taking an early train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu or to the Inca Trail. The station is a 2-minute walk from the hotel, and the breakfast buffet starts at 5am. OTOH to get to the main square, it's half a mile gently uphill from the hotel. But walk slowly, maybe stop for a snack, and that's good acclimatization for Machu Picchu. The hotel is as traditional on the inside as the exterior photos show. Lots of rich wood in the rooms, comfortable bed and bath. A good sleeping environment. The grounds are pretty and well-kept. The breakfast buffet is not huge but has something for everyone. We ate dinner at the hotel twice and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly and helpful, most of them speak English well. Because there is so little luggage area on PeruRail, we stored our larger suitcases at the hotel for the two days that we were in Machu Picchu. That way, we only had to take one backpack each on the train.

Great hotel, excellent service. I saw a lot of reviews about the beds being hard, but the beds turned out to be pretty comfortable. We use the on-site restaurant frequently and found plenty of vegetarian options. Hotel is located in a very convenient part of town near the train station to Machu Picchu and a short walk from the town center.

The grounds / landscape was breathtaking. Hummingbirds everywhere! The rooms were beautiful. Comfortable beds. Staff was so pleasant and helpful. Nice restaurant on site. Enjoyed local Peruvian wine. Buffet breakfast was included with the stay. Highly, highly recommend.

I recently had a wonderful stay at hotel Pakaritampu. The service was impeccable, and the staff was very kind helping me to accommodate some last minute changes due to personal circumstances. The room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The mountains view from the amenities areas were breathtaking, the breakfast delicious and the hotel's central location made it convenient for exploring the city and to take the train to Cusco (3 minutes walk). I highly recommend Hotel Pakaritampu for a delightful and memorable stay in the magical town of Ollantaytambo.
