Club Old Bar Motel

Fantastic overnight stop in an accessible room. The room was exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was well designed with shower seat and grab rails. Communication with reception was excellent and check in/checkout seamless. Unfortunately no toaster in room but you can order a continental breakfast if needed. The food served at the bowling club next door tries to cater to a wide range of tastes.

We spent 2 nights at Old Bar and stayed in a premium room. The room was very clean, had the most comfortable beds and pillows. There was a small outdoor area with 2 chairs which was nice for a read in the sun. A small table there would be great. They have thought of everything, biscuits with coffee tea and coffee pods, complimentary water. ....you get temporary membership at club which is beside motel. We received discounts for our meals and drinks. Food at club was very good. There was chinese and australian meals. Really good food. The only things I could find that I would suggest was not placing the iron so high on top shelf as I am short and couldnt reach it. I needed to get a chair to stand on to get it. Not ideal. A small table outside would be great. But minor details for a wonderful stay. I cant really recommend this motel higher. Was a great place to stay. Definitely would stay again.

We stayed at the Club Old Bar motel over the Australia Day long weekend 2024. Right from the booking experience over the phone, to checking-in via door code sent over a text message (keyless checkin, whaaaat!) to the room arrangement and amenities, it was simply the best motel experience we had in NSW in the last 12 years. The pictures which you see in their website are absolutely real for the rooms, the amenities and the decor. We were simply wowed! The room was extremely welcoming with top notch modern decor! Guy, who was the “guy” at the reception had switched on the aircon before we checked in, as it was one of the hottest days on summer this year, thank God and Guy for the small mercies! We went in with the door code sent to us via text, the room was inviting and there was everything in the room which you need in a hotel room to make a holiday special! The added bonus was the Nespresso machine and the coffee pods (mix of decaf and normal capsules!), which made my wife and son go over the moon. There was enough cups, plates, glasses including wine glasses! Plenty of pillows and blankets, towels and toilet accessories, the mini bar fridge well stocked with complimentary milk and water restocked everyday. Ever the small biscuits kept to have with coffee were well thought off! And to me, the best part was the modern and clean toilet which made it feel like a 5 star suite! The nice touch were the desk, an outside sitting area, the ironing board and the tv with plenty of channels (so I didn’t miss the AO women’s finals match!). Even the plug points to connect your phones had 2 built in usb ports, so thoughtful! Attached to the motel is the club where you can have drinks with some great pub food and enjoy some lawn bowling, a small put put course. Too bad the Asian menu was not operational due to some delays in kitchen repairs! Only point which I felt can be improved is the force of the shower. My wife and son didn’t complain, but to me, it felt that a little extra pressure would not be a bad idea, though I feel I am knit-picking here! Special mention for Guy, the manager who manned the reception as well. Lovely “guy”, great to have a chat with and always with a suggestion if we needed one. He welcomed us and made us feel like family! Such great hospitality, it was a pleasure spending the holidays at this motel! To be honest, this is not a motel, it a proper star hotel and better than the Holiday Inns and Wyndhams which I am a regular guest at! Great experience, def highly recommended!

What a find - great value for money. Super clean. Great communication and a perfect spot for an overnight rest on your way to QLD. This would be perfect for a sports team or group booking. Fantastic facilities. Only thing is the Club's food next door is pretty ordinary and the area is fairly quiet with not many options. Maybe try the pizza and a drink @ the club and if you aren't fussy or have any dietary restrictions - you will survive ;). Well done to the management this place was a real gem in a beautiful spot just up the road from the beach.

Great rooms and not expensive. We have gone there a couple of times to have a short break. The place is new, comfortable, roomy and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful which helps make it a relaxing experience. The one draw back is that there is not a lift which for us older people is a draw back but usually there is a staff member who offers to carry our bags up. The adjoining club offers reasonable meals at an affordable price. If you are a club member (join when you get there before check in) it is very cheap accommadation for what you get.

Had a great stay here. Clean rooms, serviced daily, friendly staff, next to the club and you get discount on food and drinks. Walking distance to shops and short drive to the beaches. Plenty of parking too.
