Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

Bad odors greet you as soon as you walk in the door. The 2nd floor smells worse. HVAC off in room so it was hot. It appears there is some remodeling happening as there were lots of building supplies piled up in the entry carport. There is clearly owner/manager/family living here. cooking on site stinks up the place. Patelindiastanis. Only game in town unfortunately.

This hotel is in a nice, small city. As two women, we felt safe at all times out and about. The hotel was quiet and close to restaurants and activities. The room was clean and spacious. The ac didn’t seem to cool our room off as much as we would have liked, the beds were super firm (very little give) and high off the ground ( For short people or people with physical limitations, this could be an issue), and the shower head didn’t have a full spray…..maybe I was doing something wrong but I didn’t see anyway to improve this. These things didn’t take away from our stay….just not ideal. The free breakfast included waffles, cereal, instant oatmeal, bananas, yogurt, milk, juice and coffee, bread and jelly, and blueberry muffins. The swimming pool and the hot tub were both working and available to use. We would probably stay here again if we ere traveling this way. Overall it was a good stay. I really liked that there was an extra chair with an ottoman in this room. We liked having somewhere to sit other than the bed or the chair at the desk. The refrigerator worked. There was shampoo and bar soap provided.

I almost gave them a 4, but wow - some of the hardest beds I've ever slept on. It was like sleeping on a trampoline. We were all up several times during the night. Other than that, it was a nice place to get a night's rest. Our room was clean, though a bit dated. Same for the lobby. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly. With so many hotels now doing breakfast, it's changed how I see it. This breakfast was average with the basics: waffle maker, cereal, fruit, a few packaged pastries. The pool was nice: brightly lit with warm water. The property itself is in a nice location, with the Oconto River right across the street and plenty of places to walk to. Overall, it was a decent stay, except for the beds.
