stayed at the knights Inn 5870 S. Orange Blossom Trail earlier this month. One thing I noticed is that the price on the marquee is never the same price that your are charged, aside from the normal fees... a $30-$40 difference. I don't travel much so that might be the norm, but renting a room and having it smell as if the previous guest was a chain smoker is NOT! Aside from that, at least the room was "clean". What also isn't the norm is having the employee who works at the front desk, whom by the way wasn't the employee whom rented me the room, banging on my door at 1:30 in the morning, waking me up out of my sleep, accusing me of having an unregistered guest in my room, that he claimed to see on the surveillance camera, and demanding to "see I.D. His attitude was nasty and highly unprofessional. My first question to whom is in charge is... why don't your employees wear identification??? Having signs posted in your room stating to "not open your door to people you don't know", and then have staff with bad attitudes and no badge, no I.D., demanding you to open your door to verify unregistered, imaginary people, is beyond the pale. The only room available at the time was a 2-bed room, which i rented. There would be no reason for me to "sneak in " anyone, let alone lie about it. at checkout time i open my door, to have a "Rules and Etiquette" notice attached to my door. speaking with the early shift person in charge about the incident, his only response was "You're not getting a refund". Obviously, it would not have benefitted me talking to anyone of any authority at that location, so I chose to post my grievances here, Your staff ...if nothing else, should have clear and recognizable Identification when dealing with guests, and the minimum of training on how to deal with the public, and not sounding like a street ****.
