Galaxy Grand Hotel

This is a very good small hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms with lake view (Most of them). Gregory Lake is right in front and it’s a 5 mins drive to the Nuwara Eliya city centre. Great service with a friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We stayed two days at this hotel to celebrate my birthday. They served the excellent service for our vacation. They arranged a good room with lake side which we didn't expect. And provided free breakfast as complementary during last day of our visit. Also we were able to checked in earlier around 7.30 am without any charges. We came to Galaxy Grand only for 4 nights but enjoyed the stay a lot. First of all, there was perfectly enough space for a couple. We had 2 big suitcases,and felt like the space was just enough. Secondly, the level of service, the genuine kindness of the staff made our stay very special. It was my husband's birthday, so the manager Ijaz with his team were reacting really fast. They not only ordered the cake for morning time, they also decorated the bed and the room with balloons and posters! It was incredible! A very sweet touch was also holding breakfast for us almost 1 hour later after closure, and providing in-room breakfast on the day of the departure! It was all a big gesture of great service team! Highly recommend! We were a bit frustrated that the AC was not in the room but chilling Nuwar Eliya mountain temperatures proved to change our mind :) Huge thanks to Ijaz and Sadham for arranging things and keeping all ready at all the times! As well as to Rita's and Afzal, who mastered bed decoration art and were extremely accurate in cleaning :) We will come back, hopefully!
