Royal Andilana Resort & Spa

Everything in this hotel was top-notch: the beautiful, spacious rooms, with comfortable beds, wonderfully soft pillows and a helpful hotel staff. The real delight of the three of us was the hotel restaurant - with a wide selection of local and Italian dishes - no wonder, since an Italian chef runs it. Every day, during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, delicious fresh fruits and ice cream were available. Both the chef and the GM could be found in the restaurant area greeting guests, ready to listen to their opinions or wishes. If there were no word limit, I could write much more such praises about this hotel.

The services are excellent. The rooms are very spacious and airy. The resort itself is very clean with meticulously maintained gardens. The beach is breathtaking. The downsides: Food: If you're a vegan, there will be very little for you to eat outside of salads, fresh fruit, boiled vegetables and the occasional beans in red sauce (unclear if those are actually vegan). Traveler's diarrhea is a risk, make sure you bring medicine. I got ill on day 5. Not seriously, but enough to require a day of rest and bland food for a couple of days. Murky water: the water in front of the resort was often muddy -- it rained some and there's a creek that empties into the bay. At times the creek smelled like sewage. I would highly recommend walking further away where there's a beautiful reef with crystal clear water.

Excellent experience at the royal andilana. I spent a week there in september. Check in was seamless. Rooms large and well appointed with good functional air conditioner. The large balcony affords enough space to dry diving equipment or bathing suits. The gardens are immaculate. Every variety of colourful flower, chameleons, tortoises etc. The pools are well maintained and they have inflatables. Beach area is beutiful and there is no shortage of shade cover. There are always activities- pool aerobics, yoga, volleyball etc. Animators were genuinely friendly and non intrusive. Daldo was very friendly as were others who were happy to share facts about life in madagascar. The all inclusive dining option is good value. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are buffet but varied and genuinely a gastronomic experience and I am a mighty fussy eater. Seafood galore and delicious pastas, pizzas, malagasy options and decadent desserts. The evening entertainment was of an excellent quality. I particularly enjoyed the fire show, live singers and movie night. By far what puts this resort head and shoulders above many (including 5 star in Maldives, zanzibar) is the staff - Torin at breakfast, Antsu at meals, Oliver at the gym and a smiling lady at the bar I dint get the name of, all so friendly and eager to help. Franco was also very friendly? As were the gardeners and cleaning staff. Bar service at pool qnd beach always prompt. A few things that need improving: 1. The wifi - it's a 5 star hotel in the 21 st century. Cannot have unstable internet connection. Local tour guides said that they had no data issues at they homes with orange network. 2. There is no moisturizing cream in bathroom even after request - Very unusual for 5 star hotel. 3. Room sound insulation isn't the best. Occasionally heard quite a lot of outside noise. 4. Bed is a bit firm and pillows too soft - no pillow menu. All in all superb holiday experience, just some minor points to improve on to make the experience perfect.

Magic and safe place, beautiful beach, delicious food. Hotel employees are doing what they can make you feel at home. A fantastic local team of animators makes sure that nobody is bored, and Well is my favorite. And he show of that he doing a good job and in visual that he deserve this animation, and I will be back soon for all smiles that I meeting from Malagasy people, I and animation, raissa, hamisy, Durand, and mossa, I would like to return, thank you. The best hotel in Nosy Be! Traveled with my family and and it was really amazing! ❗️But,unfortunately,want to tell a disappointing story about some guys at the beach who sell excursions❗️ We took a private boat from them to visit 2 islands (Nosy Fanihy and Nosy Sakatia). Everything would be great but on the second island our PRIVATE boat left us(when we got lunch) and went away… It was so strange because we wanted to swim with turtles and suddenly we understood that we don’t see our boat…! We have a guide with us so he said he doesn’t know where is our boat and he will call to the person from who we bought the tour his name is Jackson(wears white hat and have red backpack) you can meet him on the beach. So he said that our private boat will be in 40 minutes,but we have already waited 20 minutes,so we left 1 hour (time was so important for my daughter because she wanted to make a video with turtles and the sun)…After that our private boat came to us with ANOTHER tourist from our hotel and some other local people … and we were in shock because we paid for PRIVATE BOAT… We have to ask about this situation from another guy who was on a boat(he sells tours too with Jackson) I will attach the photo of him,he is in peach T-shirt and got the answer :«You can go on boat and we will go together to see turtles or you can left on the island,it’s you choice »…. So we(a family of four)can left on the island alone…!!! After that situation we wanted to call to Jackson and take our money back but he wasn’t in touch!😂😅We wrote to him by what’s up and read lots of information that he invented so we didn’t see him next three days on the beach… Highly recommend to future tourists to buy excursions from guys who are in hotel,yes I know it’s little bit expensive BUT it’s better than left on island alone!
