The Langham Hotel

Paid £48 for a twin room, the price included secure parking and a cooked breakfast, which compared to everywhere else we looked at was a complete bargain. We were only staying in Northampton for 1 night as my daughter had an early appointment at the hospital. As others have said, the hotel is very dated but it’s functional, the room was fine for our needs. The cleanliness was ok, although some areas in the room were dusty (top of mirror for example, and the ceiling) and the lower parts of the furniture could have done with a wipe as something was splashed onto it (front of wardrobe) The little fridge in the room however smelt absolutely awful and really needed throwing away! Again the bathroom was dated but clean, a small bar of soap was provided, a little shower gel, a bath mat and 2 towels. The car park is located around the back of the row of houses, we checked in at 1.45pm but were told the car park didn’t open until 3.30. Luckily we’d been able to park on a nearby street and moved the car later. The road to the car park is very narrow and very bumpy- so go slow! But once you’re there the car park is great.

This hotel is dated, but that is part of its charm. Loved my stay here, it was very clean, comfortable and plenty of how water. Best nights sleep for ages and woke up to a very good breakfast. For £40 including breakfast. Absolute bargain. Happily stay again

The hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. It should really be called a B&B as the restaurant only serves breakfast, with a choice of cereal, toast and a full English option. For me the cooked breakfast was very greasy and didn't match the menu. Yes, it's a budget hotel and you get what you pay for, but the two rooms we booked had no iron, ironing board, hairdryer or sink plugs - if they aren't available take them off the room details or advise that you need to bring them with you. Other issues we had were TV remote not working, bedside cabinets in a different part of the room, shower head dirty and held together with electrical tape and a screw (which was probably inside a door stopper) sticking out of the bathroom floor (Rm 16). There were some very unpleasant smells from the toilet/drains in the bathroom. The car park is very difficult to find and the track to it is full of potholes and very, very narrow. We couldn't speak to anybody about our issues when we checked out as reception was closed, with a request to leave keys on the counter in front of the grill, which made me very nervous. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Doesn’t warrant any stars. Wooden spoon in room, no soap, shower - water scolding hot and no adjustment (dangerous), rock hard poached eggs for breakfast, asked for water but didnt get any. Tea served in a milk jug even though it was in a teapot on the first day. The restaurant was empty so they hadn’t run out. TV in room didn’t have basic terrestrial channels and kept pixelating. Very run down and in need of a lot of work. Carpets dirty and worn. Breakfast only served until 8.45 on a Sunday.

Poor condition and cleanliness of bathroom. For example shower head full of limescale and mould around shower screens. I could not use. Breakfast was paid for in advance with booking. When I went for breakfast at 08.55 I was told by the waitress that breakfast was not served after 08.45. Despite the cook available also the tables still had cereal and bowls on the tables. I went to reception to check out and there was nobody available. In fact the security grills were shut so the key was pushed through a slot.

Very useful place to stay for Silverstone, I only needed somewhere to sleep as I had an early morning to go to an event. Parking around the back in the compound was good for peace of mind for my car, and they got up early on a Sunday to let me out, which was nice.
