Apple Orchard Resort

we were three adults including a senior citizen and stayed for 1 night (13 nov 2022 night) and to sum up the stay in a few words...absolutely amazing. u r welcomed at at the reception with a warm brandy shot...spoiled wid the variety/spread of food at lunch and dinner... and also provided packed breakfast (apples, bananas, real fruit juice and a veg mayo stuffed delicious sandwich) for your early morning trip to gurudongmar lake... the service is apt and prompt....there was hot water available in the evening for showers(make sure to keep an interval of minimum 20 min between each shower for hot water to be available from the geyser) and there was hot water in early morning in the wash basin as well... extremely good bed heaters for those chilly winters... oxygen canisters available for buying on the reception in case if not already bought from gangtok (mayb only for hotel clients, not sure though).... a fireplace in the dining area to help u remain warm...rooms are extremely spacious with beds and huge 5 seater sofa sets to relax...we were also provided with an extra bed... washrooms are extremely spic and span... the only place in my entire trip i can say where the washrooms were extremely bright and clean....huge glass windows from the rooms for the mesmerizing views....cookies and chips provided in the rooms were complimentary... i wish i cud stay longer coz we were barely there for 12 hrs.... not sure if ala carte is an option since they provide rooms with American meal plans only.... cons : i) the resort is with steep uphill climb of stone carved steps.. reception and restaurant is almost at 1.5 floor and our room was another 1.5 floor from the reception... i and mayb a lot of them wud have suggested them to pave the way to the resort for a wheel chair... even my mom found it difficult to reach the rooms but somehow managed...ii)finding the resort is a little difficult as there are no sign ways.. iii) it is on the expensive side...but considering the remoteness of the place and no other similar good hotels make it all the way worthy.... even 5 star hotels in the main city of gangtok have been failing to provide such hospitality....so kudos to the team for such efforts and thank you for making the stay a memorable one.... definitely recommended if one does not mind burnign a hole in their pockets....

One of the best or rather the best property in Lachen. Great hospitality, delicious and great spread of food inspite of Lachen being remote. Rooms were clean with good heating provision, continuous hot water in the bathrooms, get view of the snow cap mountains and not to forget a cozy & comfortable restaurant. Special call out to Kumar and his team for their service and making sure that we were taken care off. All the staff right from front desk, room service, house keeping etc. were courteous

lovely property almost all reviews are positive approach to hotel wont be suited for elderly or people with very young kid but in all terms property is worth every penny they are charging food is good spread (lunch and dinner spread is also decent) I personally didn't expected such good property in place like Lachen Hotel is well equipped with all the basic facilities required (electric blanket , heater, geyser ) .Room views are very scenic love the place . Lots of input provided by the manager which were very useful good interaction. Very polite and helpful staff. Almost all rooms are having good views . Again repeating my words " Worth every penny" .A must visit .Last but not the least Cherry Brandy shots were icing on the cake .Thanks for every thing specially for medicines for my teenage kid.

Outstanding service and attention to detail. They are very well prepared for the fact that most guests stay here just to leave early in the morning to see Gurudongmar lake. The tariff was inclusive of all meals but given the paucity of any viable meal options nearby, this works out well. The quality of food is superb and the wait staff are attentive. They served us an Indian buffet for dinner with adequate choices. They packed us breakfast to take with us and served lunch when we came back, even though we had checked out of our rooms in the morning when we left for the lake. It is a very beautiful property and I'm just sad that we hadn't chosen to stay longer. Both the general area and this particular location at the top of the hill have fantastic views. The rooms are spacious and ours was on the second floor with a spectacular view of the mountains. Each room has an electric heater and an electric blanket. A particularly thoughtful touch was the staff coming around to each room at night and offering a flask of hot water. I would happily stay here again and for a longer period.

Apple Orchard has an approach with stone steps narrow BUT the welcome with cherry brandy at the reception is amazing. The electric blankets in the cozy wooden cottages all but make up for the approach. Christmas trees, decorations, and snowfall are amazing in December and January. But Gurudongmar Lake, Nathula Pass, and Yarlam Valley might be closed due to snowfall from 15th December to 15th January so plan accordingly. The almost home cooked food was amazing, The staff is exceptionally hospitable. The best place to stay in Lachen.
