"Arrived early evening to a friendly welcome, the reception area was informal and staff readily available. Room was cosy and well equipped with tea and coffee and two bottles of still spring water. Two sets of towels ample storage space and a cosy double bed with extra fluffy pillows (3). Ensuite shower and toilet in the room and smart tv with wifi and chromecast facility. Great tucked away from main road location with easy access to adjoining pub/restaurant. Ideally situated for local attractions like diggerland, xscape, and royal armories. Good value fir money"

"Der Preis ist absolut billig, Sie können in einer halben Stunde nach York Ole Park & Ride um einen Bus in die Stadt fahren. Das Zimmer ist nicht klein, sehr sauber, Parkplatz ist kostenlos, es gibt ein Restaurant an der Tür, das Frühstück ist alle Holiday Inns gleich. Keine Elektrösse, oben müssen Sie Ihre Gepäck selbst packen"

"Erstaunlich bleiben mit erstaunlicher Mitarbeiter! Buchte ein Zimmer für meinen 80. Geburtstag meiner Mutter zusammen mit dem Abendessen und ein Essen im Klaret-Jug mit Familie am nächsten Tag. Alles war perfekt für meine Mutter von Zimmer zu Essen und Service - ein besonderer Schrei aus zu Vicki Wood und (Ich bin so entschuldigt, dass ich nicht ihren Namen bekommen) die Dame, die sich um alles für uns im Claret Jug kümmerte."

"The pub and the room themselves are lovely.  We were served by a man behind the bar who greeted us with ‘what’s the name?’ He then couldn’t find the booking as he didn’t have the correct apps from which we booked through…continued to say we wasn’t booked even though proof of booking was given.  His approach changed as soon as he realised he was in the wrong, showed us to the room where we found it wasn’t what I had payed for. I booked a king size bed with two singles, was given a room with just two singles. The bathroom had hairs everywhere and hardly any toilet roll. Obviously hadn’t been cleaned and replenished. When we returned back to the room later on in the evening the room was extremely warm, tried to adjust the heating where we discovered it was only able to be changed by the bar downstairs. The bar closed at 10pm to which afterwards there was no staff on the premises. Either be too hot or open the window and have the loud noises from a main road. Couldn’t win either way.  As mentioned very nicely decorated rooms but issues throughout."

"Das Badezimmer könnte mit etwas TLC, die Tür würde nicht richtig schließen und die Gemälde auskommen. Andere als das war ok, wie erwartet - obwohl es keine Bacon am Frühstück."
