I stayed here in March, I previously reviewed this place but I believe it's had a refresh, it's made no difference. I stayed in a Plus room which wasn't cheap even with no breakfast. In short it's really not great. The auto check in machines don't work so there was sizeable queue at check in. The room is not clean, it clearly isn't cleaned properly and was looking tatty. There is dust and I guess human skin under the bed and down the side of the fridge was disgusting. There were stains on the carpet and mould in the bathroom. Repairs had been bodged and the door stop was hanging off. I emailed a complaint, got an automatic reply stating I would hear within 5 days .....and of course heard nothing. Tells you all you need to know about their attitude to customers.

A horrible self check in system, no toilet roll in the room, heating wouldn't go below 20 degrees when the outside temp was 25 making the room hot and muggy ( you couldn't open windows on the 3rd floor) when asking for it to be turned down made to feel like I was asking for the impossible. Downstairs entrance looks like an abandoned office block. I stay in Premier Inns on a regular basis for work and have always had a friendly welcome at reception but unfortunately this one is totally different to all the others around the country I have used.

I found Premier Inn an inviting place to stay.The staff were always cheerful and very helpful. The atmosphere in the reception/ bar area was excellent. The room was clean , the bed was large and very comfortable.The bathroom was spacious and the shower excellent. We totally enjoyed our stay at the Chelmsford Premier Inn.

Most comfortable beds ever. Staff were amazing, especially Giulio who made the most amazing hot chocolate, and even came off his break to make me one. We had food in the restaurant, service and food were very good. Good choice of food for breakfast. Would definitely stay at this Premier Inn again, bonus that the train station is literally 3 minutes walk away.

We stayed for my wedding we had three rooms one night and four the second night. They upgraded me and decorated the room so beautifully for my wedding night. The staff went over and above for us They helped with our party Photo Booth props and everything. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. So please will definitely return soon. Wow 110% service and all so friendly. So happy Carol x
