Manse on the Beach

I honestly cannot fault this guest house. We stayed at The Manse to celebrate a very special birthday so it was a family occasion. To say this facility is 5 star is no understatement. The staff in particular Sarah, were so attentive without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. The entire weekend was perfectly executed and my family and I cannot wait for the next occasion so we can come back. Absolutely 💯 recommend. Incredible place, so relaxing and the Indian head massage on the Sunday was to die for!

We had a wonderful night. The room was light, fresh and airy, with gorgeous towels and toiletries, The view from the bed over the beach was stunning, both tranquil and mesmerising. Both the view and the walk along the beach were very uplifting. We enjoyed a fabulous seafood dinner at the Quays restaurant nearby. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, with warmth and kindness. The next day we had an exciting walk at a nature reserve at the tip of the peninsula where we saw all sorts of birds and even a couple of hares. We can only say a huge thank you to our most generous host Brian, for creating and sharing such a special place, and to coordinator Sarah who has always been lovely.

A little slice of heaven. Leave your window open and you don't need to play wave sounds to get you to sleep. The waves and sounds are real just outside. Very clean, well equipped rooms and the owners can't do enough. If you need a few days to shut out the world, then escape to The Manse on the Beach.

This place is a real hidden gem, the team here are amazing. The bedroom and breakfast are first class, right across the road from the beach. We will return in the near future, thanks to all the team for a lovely stay. Close to a lovely little village called Portaferry where we are at the portaferry hotel which was also very nice.

An absolute haven on the Ards peninsula. This is a perfect adults only getaway. Brian is the perfect host and the guesthouse has so many beautiful touches. Coffee machines in each bedroom, and lovely white robes should you choose to use the beautiful spa area in the garden, with jacuzzi bath and sauna. The large, cosy communal room, complete with wood burner and a selection of beautiful books, is perfect to relax in. There is even a little fridge so you can keep a chilled beverage of choice to hand. The breakfast served by a very welcoming Rachel, was truly delicious, a good choice of hot dishes with the finest ingredients, as well as fresh fruit, local yoghurt, cereals, fresh orange juice and freshly brewed coffee. We will definitely be back.

This was our first visit but will certainly not be our last. It is an absolute jewel. The venue and decor are tasteful and stylish. Service could not have been better… Rachel was very attentive and gave good advice. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco on the house in the reception area, then taken to our table in the stylish bistro restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere and full. Not surprising when we sampled the outstanding food. All our three courses were delightful. Meals are pre-ordered, which gives customers time to consider and choose before the night. We had a wonderful experience and most certainly will be back during our next visit to Cloughey in October. We shall book early as I suspect this gem will be very sought after for a special evening out Sheelagh & Mike Tickell
