Killeavy Castle Estate

Just back from our one night stay in Killeavy Castle Hotel. We met for a small informal family reunion and were very pleasantly surprised with our first visit there. The young staff were very welcoming and could not do enough to make our short say memorable. 'Tir na Og' land of eternal youth! Afternoon tea was a real treat. Slept well in a king-size bed that was very comfortable. Well apportioned modern bedroom, temperature controlled. Full Irish breakfast set us up for the rest of the day. Overall, *****. As the sung says 'Fare thee well Killeavy'. We will definitely be back soon to tour the Slieve Gullion region. Thoroughly recommend it.

We had a very relaxing couple spa night away. From the moment you enter the hotel you are warmly welcomed by very friendly knowledgeable staff who want to make you time away as seamless as possible. Our room wasn't ready but they took our luggage from us so we could go and use the spa facilities and enjoy our couples massage. The spa area is very tranquil and I thought the outdoor hot tub was great. The treatment is probably one of the best massages I have ever had and the area where you relax after was really peaceful. On leaving the spa area our room key had been left there for us and our luggage had been taken to our room from reception so we could just make our way up in our robes and slippers. Wow the room is large and immaculately cleaned you can tell that housekeeping take their time to make sure the rooms are cleaned to a high standard. The bed and linen was amazing. The bathroom is small but again very clean with everything you need. The rituals products were a lovely touch also. Our view overlooked the walled garden and the mountains and countryside. It was very peaceful. We ate at the bistro restaurant and they had a great selection on there vegetarian menu. The service was great and staff checked on us many times throughout the evening. The presentation of the food was incredible and it tasted as good as it looked. The food had great flavour and we were quite impressed. The views again from the restaurant were stunning. We had a perfect night's sleep and didn't hear any noise at all from the hallways. We woke up feeling relaxed. We ate at the main restaurant for breakfast it had a great continental selection and also cooked breakfast. We ordered from the menu and was cooked very quickly. Again the staff were very friendly and helpful and checked on us several times throughout breakfast. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the castle and the walled gardens before checking out. It really is a beautiful spot for a visit. Again check out was seamless and the staff member asked if we had enjoyed our stay. Any other staff members we seen throughout our stay all greeted us with a smile you could really tell they enjoyed working there. From start to finish the whole team really went above and beyond. It's hard to find good customer service these days. Thanks to all at Killeavy Castle for making our stay a memorable one.

Best stay we have been on! Wwnt with my friend to celebrate her birthday. The Spa waa lovely and treatment with Tara was exceptional. Afternoon tea was declious overlooking the castle only thing table was a little low. Dinner in the bistro bar was gorgeous, we choose the beef and it melted in our mouth, the cocktails also went down well. Our room was modern, spacious and clean. I had asked for a room with a view if possible and we werent disappointed. From the moment we checked in we felt nothing was an issue and the staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to anything we asked. We definitely will be back!

The food was exceptional, loved the nachos and the burger that I got in the bistro. Doesn’t feel overrun with people . Lovely breakfast with lots of options . The spa was small but a lovely addition to the hotel . Have been a few times and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay .

John Murphy 3/5 I had high hopes for this hotel but was left disappointed. I had booked 2 nights getaway after getting married elsewhere. Paid close to £500 for 2 nights which included breakfast and 3 course dinner for one of the nights. The room was...ok. No fridge, no aircon and when you left the window/sliding door open at night, do so at your own risk as the room will be covered in flies. The room was roasting and the small fan provided is useless. For a 4 star hotel, you would expect a fridge but none provided so had to keep phoning for ice. The door to our room was warped so it kept rattling everytime someone shut their door. We had to stuff cardboard under it to keep it from making noise. Had to phone reception about the noise that was being made by workmen outside the room as they were drilling (not what you want to hear at any time of the day). The food was ok, desert was very disappointing (white chocolate ganash). I didn't finish it. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I would recommend looking at other hotels who do offer better value for money imo

Myself and my friend had the treatment of the month at the Killeavey Spa and it did not disappoint. We arrived 90 minutes before our treatments and had plenty of time to use the facilities, our favourite was relaxing on the heated stone bed. The pool is quite small and the hot tub is ok. I would suggest that the hedges to be cut down a bit to see the beautiful scenery but probably there for privacy for clients. My beauty therapist Helen was so lovely and knew how to make me relax and enjoy the whole experience. She was very professional and if I was going back I would ask for her. I would highly recommend a wee spa day at Killeavey Castle.
