Ivy Lodge

We booked the Trunk Room on the 3rd floor. It really is as charming as the pictures. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. The dining room was well stocked with baked goods and other snacks and beverages. Breakfast each morning was delicious.

Where should I start... I booked the whole Ivy Lodge for my son and daughter in-laws wedding. All of the bridesmaids and grooms stayed which made it a very special weekend. Wesley was amazing to deal with from the very beginning. Jackie was a gracious host and Wesley's brother was the chef that cooked our amazing breakfast every morning. The rooms were fantastic, the porch was a wonderful place to relax on. The staff kept everything spotless. It is absolutly an amazing place to stay and we cannot wait to go back. Do not hesitate to book the Ivy Lodge!

We were warmly welcomed by Westley. He patiently took the time to help us navigate Newport by giving us a map, and recommendations on what to do, and some good dining spots. Ivy Lodge is a grand old historic house. Every room has been decorated with thought and attention to detail. Period furnishings, but with comfort in mind. The common areas were so comfortable. We felt right at home. The wrap around porch was my happy place. We stayed in the Pines room on the 3rd floor. The stairs were easy to navigate. We are seniors and had no issues with climbing them. The room was small, but adequate for our needs. The bed and bedding was luxurious. The room was plenty cool with its own air conditioner, and a remote to adjust it. The gourmet breakfast was phenomenal. The house is a very short walk to the Elms mansion, and right outside the Elms is the hop on hop off bus stop. Bus 67 is free from mid May thru October, and it will get you to most tourist spots. Some room for improvement: The large jacuzzi part of the tub/shower combo did not work, and was hard to step in and out of. Also the lamp on one side of the bed was so tall you had to get out of bed to shut the light off, and no bedside charging dock. The other side of the bed did have a charging dock, and the lamp was reachable from the bed. 2 very small inconveniences. Everyone was so friendly including the housekeepers. We had a great stay!

We stayed here for three nights in one of the attic rooms. The room was very cosy and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was lovely - the owners informed us each morning what they were making that day (we heard other guests ask for different things, which the owner happily accommodated) and we liked the concept of no menus and eating what we were given, which was very tasty. We forgot to pack our beach towels and the owners happily provided us with some for the day. The wrap around porch was beautiful to sit and read on overlooking the peaceful garden. Complimentary tea and coffee facilities were available in the communal area, along side homemade cakes and cookies each day. Felt like a home from home. If we returned to Newport, we would without a doubt stay here again.

What a lovely inn. It is removed from the harbor hubbub, but just a few blocks from the Cliffwalk and an easy 20 minute stroll to the downtown area, with all the restaurant and shops. Our second floor rooms were charmingly decorated and immaculate, and Jacqi and her sons most accommodating. We would not think of staying anyplace else in Newport.

I've been to the IVY Lodge many times over the years and I keep going back! Each room is so unique, cozy, super clean and comfortable. The owners and staff are professional, accommodating and friendly. The wrap around porch/deck is so peaceful, great place to have coffee and read or just listen to the birds and look at the flowers. Every morning breakfast is unique and he Alve Regina entrance to the stairs, 5 min walk, check out the cliff walk. There so much to do near by, whether one walks, rents the electric bike or drives. Great restaurants. IVY Lodge is also very peaceful and very well maintained. I'll continue to go!
