This hotel was formerly a convent and is adjacent to a beautiful church, and the setting is serene and beautiful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are so accommodating and helpful that you could not ask for more. The room my wife and I stayed in was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and the coffee was delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and the service given was among the best we’ve ever experienced. There is complimentary wi-fi ( a rarity these days with most establishments charging a small premium) . We had a lovely stay which was predominantly down to the staff and in particular a lovely lady named Theresa who always went out of her way and was so accommodating. Although the hotel is listed as a “Three Star” it feels like a “5 Star”. Stunning , and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Das Hotel liegt am Rande einer Klippe. Unbesiegbare Landschaft ist das größte Merkmal. Das Hotel ist älter, die Zimmer sind klein und der Besitzer ist nicht begeistert von chinesischen Touristen. Sie müssen ein Auto haben, um hier zu leben, sonst müssen Sie die Klippe von der Klippe hinunter und zum Abendessen zur Autobahn hinuntergehen. Es ist aber auch ein Erlebnis, den Komfort der Unterkunft für die wunderschöne Landschaft außerhalb des Balkons zu opfern.

Das Hotel in einem ehemaligen Fabrikgebäude ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ohne Auto wegen der Lage nicht empfehlenswert, sonst hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Neapel, Pompeii, Amafiküste usw. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit seitlichem Meerblick und Terrasse, da war die Aussicht grandios, das Zimmer geräumig und schön. Handtücher und Bettwäsche würden regelmäßig gewechselt. Rezeption sehr hilfreich, besonders gute Tipps für Neapel kamen von Angelo. Poolbereich sauber und großzügig, besonders aufmerksam und überaus freundlich war Mario!! Frühstück war gut und ausreichend abwechslungsreich, frische Eiergerichte wären wünschenswert. Abendessen war exzellent. Sehr gut gekochte Fischgerichte, oft Recht große Portionen. Nicht ganz nachvollziehbar ist das Halbpensionssystem: 35,-- pro Person werden verrechnet, man kann 2 Gänge und eine Nachspeise aus dem a La carte Menü wählen. Die Preise auf der Karte sind allerdings so, dass man die 35,--€ nicht immer erreicht, schon gar nicht, wenn man einmal einen Gang weglassen will. Ich empfehle mit Frühstück zu buchen, dann ist man flexibler und spart. Mit schönem Spa wird geworben, kostet allerdings 20,--€/Person, Dank gutem Wetter haben wir es nicht genutzt.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 3 Paaren und wegen der Jahreszeit waren wir auf Zimmerwahl beschränkt, so dass unsere Erfahrungen variierten. Zimmer 1, großes Zimmer mit Wohnbereich und zwei Balkone - sehr gut. Zimmer 2, Doppelzimmer mit Balkon gegenüber der Zuglinie - zufriedenstellende Zimmer 3, Doppelzimmer mit Fenster, krampft und dunkel. Allerdings waren wir nicht in den Zimmern viel, so dass es niemanden zu viel beeinflusste. Das Frühstückszimmer war schön und es gab eine gute Auswahl an Lebensmitteln. Die Lage war brillant, zu Fuß zu allem entfernt.

Wir genossen uns ein fabulöses Wochenende im Hotel, das am Guten Freitag ausreist und für die Hotels große Öffnung ankommt. Wir waren mit einem schönen, frischen Drink und Nibbles willkommen und gingen dann ins Sonnenlicht, um einen schönen Mittagessen in der Poolbar zu genießen. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind unermüdlich sauber gehalten. Die Zimmer haben einen kleinen Kühlschrank, der täglich gespeichert wird, obwohl ich glaube, Sie können beantragen, dass es leer ist. Ein schöner Touch während des Ostern Wochenendes war ein Ostern Ei in unserem Zimmer verlassen. Die Hotelbar und das Restaurant waren ausgezeichnet. Wir blieben auf Halbboardbasis. Die Frühstücksoptionen waren sehr gut und reichlich zu füllen, bevor wir ausgehen, um die Sehenswürdigkeiten zu sehen. Die Abendessen waren auch ein hoher Standard und eine große Auswahl während der Woche. Wir wurden vor allem von Emanuele, Nino und Sam im Restaurant und von Guiseppie und Dima im Bar gefolgt und fühlten, dass sie unser Aufenthalt alles besser gemacht haben. Das Gala Abendessen am Sonntag war besonders gut. Wir genossen mehrere Reisen vom Hotel, darunter Pompei und Herculaneum, Capri und Anacapri sowie eine fabulöse Tour der Küste Amalfi. Wir nahmen auch den komplimentären Shuttlebus in Sorrrento mehrere Male während unseres Aufenthalts. Das war unser erstes Besuch in Sorrento und wir würden gerne wieder besuchen. Wir waren uns alle einig, dass wir definitiv in La Solara einbuchen, wenn wir zurückkommen.

This was a last minute booking, desperate as we were to find somewhere/ANYWHERE near Sorrento and the coast which offered free parking.Turned out, we added an extra night as it was such an enjoyable hotel to stay in. The hotel sits on the main road to Massa Lubrense itself, an attractive large village about two miles away. Good Tourist Info off ice here too.The area of Massa Lubrense is rural, olive and lemon groves, a world away from the urban feel of nearby Sorrento. Lovely, bright room with a pretty balcony overlooking the sea and Capri…you could never get fed up with that view and sunset! And the stars at night! Beautiful. I hate road noise and was concerned that the hotel was right on the local provincial road but we were out and about all day and the local traffic that did use the road all died down by early evening.Somehow, it didn’t seem to matter and it was very quiet overnight as the road is not the main one you use to access the Amalfi Coast. Excellent breakfast buffet, anything you could want.Staff were very friendly and nice too. We ate in both nights and the food was really tasty, truly home made quality, perfect really, plenty of it and terrific value I thought.10 euro for Veal a La Limone! Not so keen on the desserts but I don’t rate Italian desserts or cakes anyway so that’s just me.There was a sweet trolley, something nice to see for a change. Superb fresh sourdough bread with meals too. Would definitely come back here…Massa Lubrense is a lovely, quieter area yet with great walks and drives to pretty corners. The bus to Sorrento takes 10 mins and stops right out side the hotel.Wouldn’t stay in that busy, hectic town for love nor money but worth a look. The easy, free parking right outside our hotel was so relaxing to have. Big family lunch on , on the Sunday we arrived, in a private suite , so it clearly is rated highly by locals too. We’ll be back!
