We arrived after a long day of travel to find that only one of the two rooms we had booked were available to us. Upon checking our booking records and realising their mistake, the owner offered us two options: she would find us a different place to stay, or she would make up what was originally presented as a couch in the available room to become a third bed. It was already dark and we were very tired, so we decided to slum it together in one room for the night, but catch: instead of simply refunding us for the room we didn’t get, we had to agree to a partial refund only because of the third “bed” being added. Effectively, they changed the booking terms from per room to per person and made a profit on their mistake with the alternative being for us to get out and back on the road after driving for hours. It was an awkward stay and we felt taken advantage of.
Apart from the gouging, everything was perfectly mediocre.
