Bugana Beach and Dive Resort

The staff was extremely kind and courteous. The manager helped my Dad and me when we were sick, for instance. They seem to genuinely care for their customers beyond their duties. It is also clean! The beach is gorgeous. We snorkeled a lot. My daughter collected so many shells and she saw a sea turtle.

From the moment we arrived at Bugana Beach and Dive Resort, we were captivated by its tranquil atmosphere and breathtaking surroundings. Bugana Beach and Dive Resort is a hidden gem that delivers both luxury and authenticity. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a rejuvenating and unforgettable getaway.

We stayed at this resort with high expectations, but unfortunately, it fell short in several areas. The beach, while boasting white sand, lacks the fine, soft texture you might expect. It's mixed with corals and stones, making it uncomfortable to walk on. Definitely recommend wearing slippers if you plan to swim to avoid cuts. The pool, though clean, is small and not as inviting as advertised. We stayed in a suite that could accommodate 5 adults and 2 kids, which was spacious enough, but the value doesn't justify the overall experience. As for the food, it was disappointing. The breakfast buffet, which ran from 7:30 to 10:00 AM, was late to open compared to other resorts, and when we arrived at 8:00 AM, many items had already run out. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for refills, and some items, like the pineapple, weren’t replenished at all (even though the hotel was fully booked). The food quality and portion sizes were underwhelming for the price. I would rate the food a 6/10 at best. Sorry not sorry. Additionally, the pool doesn’t open until 8:00 AM, which is quite late compared to other resorts that offer earlier access to amenities. The biggest issue, however, was the service. It was slow, unorganized, and lacking in basic hospitality. It seems that the hotel’s full capacity may have overwhelmed the staff, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for poor service. Overall, this resort didn’t live up to its claims. I would not recommend it. For a better experience, you’re better off spending your money at destinations like Boracay or Punta Bulata, which offer far better value for your money. Hope this helps! Rating: 3/5

As always my fave resort to stay and unwind Food taste sooo good especially the beef salpicao just melts in your mouth and the creamy leche flan yummm! Staff so friendly. And the stunning sea view just do amazing. Til my next trip! It's like a homy escape! ❣️

Excellent place to stay and relax. Food and accommodation is very good. Location pool and beach very relaxing.. Quiet location out of the way. Staff very friendly and attentive. I would recommend place for a few days relaxing as a couple or family group.

Had booked four nights and had been in touch with the reception through Facebook Messenger. In the end, because of promo structure (more expensive for direct bookings weirdly?!). we booked through Agoda, but it was fully confirmed by reception. Drove three hours to get to Bugana. As we walked up to reception, the resorts was very apparently under repair and maintenance. The pool was empty and they were retiling it. Lots of banging, welding and grinding was going on. Loud noises. Zero other guests to be seen. Big scaffoldings and so on. So apparently no one had remembered to tell us they were under renovations. They happily took the booking. On arrival they offered to upgrade us to a villa (which we already paid for in fact) - But serious question though, who would want to eat in a restaurant surrounded by carpenters and masons, dust, noise and crap? The manager or owner tried to tell us they had no way to contact us, as they would have let us know if they could. Then when we said we were actually talking online with them, he appeared unconvinced until he saw the actual conversation. So many questions - apparently it's okay taking on bookings through partner websites, and then because the hotels can't respond, it's ok that guests just show up and learn the hard way? Not telling us it was under maintenance in our direct chat ******. Not closing those dates on booking websites is really poor management. I get it. Resorts needs maintenance and care. Some stuff can be done a bit under the radar while operating as normal, but this was clearly not a case of that. The resort was not fit to accept guests, and not informing guests prior to arrival is cardinal screw up. Very disappointed to waste our time, and sorry Bugana got our holiday off to a rotten start! Have been to Bugana before, but not coming back.
