"My experience at this inn was great. My daughter Erica and I stayed here overnight August 18-19. First off, we didn’t drive in but there is a free shuttle bus downtown that takes you right to the corner, a few feet away from the inn. Now for the inn itself. It was lovely. We had one of the rooms upstairs with a private bathroom. As soon as you walk into the room you see that it looks like it belongs on an island. It’s done up in a seaside motif with cool and calming tones of blue and white with seashells and the like. Next, but most important, was the cleanliness. You could feel and see the clean. I didn’t even feel a desire to whip out my Lysol wipes and sanitizer. The hosts were so thoughtful. They had complimentary ice cold orange juice in the refrigerator for us along with different kinds of snacks and good coffee. Also complimentary. In the hall there is a microwave and even more snacks. At the front entrance there are some other snacks and drinks that you can pay for at a small price using the honesty system. And yet still there is a free bowl of fruit there also. I’ve arrived at hotels starving and unable to get food immediately. That was not a problem here. They also provided toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash. The good stuff. They also had a variety of streaming services and regular tv. They thought of everything. I slept so good here. If I go back to Nantucket this is where I’ll be staying. I highly recommend this place. FYI-I think the shuttle bus is not going to be free starting in 2026. But even if you have to pay it’s a convenient option if you don’t want to drive. There are shuttles that I believe take you to just about anywhere you want to go on the island."

Carlisle House Inn

"I absolutely loved my stay at Carlisle House Inn. The location is perfect for walking all around Nantucket, and there is even a free Wave shuttle stop directly across the street for 2026, which makes getting around incredibly easy. The inn and my room were spotless and beautifully designed. I stayed in the Sconset room, which had a king bed, bath, and sitting room — it was cozy, elegant, and so comfortable. You can really tell the owner has thought of every detail. Breakfast each morning was such a nice touch with fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, and a bright, welcoming dining area. Since I visited during a quieter time, noise was minimal and the entire atmosphere felt peaceful and relaxing. The staff were gracious, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. The owner is especially kind, knowledgeable, and truly wants guests to enjoy Nantucket. Although it was chilly during my visit so I didn’t spend time outside, the outdoor spaces still looked beautiful and inviting. I would absolutely stay here again and am already looking forward to returning next year. You will not be disappointed."

"The Centerboard is a perfect place and has a wealth of history and heritage.  The room was in perfect condition.  The king bed was firm but also comfy and allowed me to sleep comfortably.  The Porch was an excellent place to sit and plan our walks to the downtown area.  Only 8-10 minutes away  Gary & Zita"

"We stayed at the Nantucket Hotel & Resort from December 29–31, 2025, and it was one of the most memorable experiences. During our stay, my partner Matt and I got engaged at the hotel, and the entire team went above and beyond to make the proposal incredibly special and seamless. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to help create a once-in-a-lifetime moment for us. Life House, Nantucket

"Life House is effectively a boarding house, without sufficient public space to even qualify as a B&B. There is clearly a range of room sizes, but caveat emptor given the risk of getting one of the teeny ones not even able to accommodate a desk. Finally, there is, IMHO, an egregious inclusion/exploitation of the “resort fee” concept. Hotel charges $30/day for that line, which would appear to provide access to…nothing? Let’s be clear…it has no onsite recreational amenities. It does have bicycles, though, for exclusive use of its guests! One problem…guests pay $35/bicycle per day for their use. It remains a complete head scratcher for me how it can justify that."
