HARRIS Hotel & Suites Nagoya Batam

Thankful for the early check-in so that we can rest in the room. We were given high floor at 14th but no view as the hotel is being Blocked by Harper Hotel 🏨 Main door has good sound proof as we can never hear the noise from the mosque & school directly opposite the hotel. Good spread of breakfast menu and the seating capacity is very very well spread out in level 1. Hotel is doing good job in helping the earth by providing Glass Bottled Water but we are afraid to drink as it was indicated the source of water whereabout. N we were disappointed at the housekeeping for not making up our room the next day. We left around noon for shopping and back by 9pm. After we informed the front desk, they came for a quick cleanup but slippers & amenities were not stock up. Lucky we had brought extra vanity use. N hopefully the hotel will install a stopper at the shower door as the water always flows out of the door and ended up a soaked & wet toilet in the sink area. Still has a lot more room for improvement at Harris. Do take Grab/Maxim/Gojek for everywhere if u get tired of the surrounding area. Or a short walk 10-15mins to Nagoya Hill Mall.

Got early check in after submitting two new emails to be registered for Ascott rewards. Assigned to 807 and sighted a few drain flies upon entering, small issue compared to what we faced later. Spotted 2 plaster bagworms, and toilet bowl had bugs surfacing repeatedly despite lid being down. Photos for both attached. Gave feedback to front desk and waited for duty manager to arrive (started waiting from 5.22pm), then went back to room while DM prepared a new room. Waited for about 25 mins and we decided to head to the lobby with our luggage as nothing was happening. We were offered the suite at 808 but tried to explain before entering 808 that the corridor was infested with the insects, he shrugged (prolly language barrier here). 808 had the same issue and the DM initially tried to explain it was not a bug and we had to show him photos on google, and also spotted a bagworm with the worm (photo for second room attached) inside on our way out. We told the DM we did not want an upgraded room, and just wanted a clean room that had no insects. Next room we were offered was 1305 which thankfully had no bugs and smelled a lot fresher. It was 6.07pm when we put our bags down and had to wait “5 mins” for keys to be delivered. Nothing happened after 20 mins and we had a dinner reservation to head to, called front desk and they sent the security guard up to hand us the room keys, not sure this is correct protocol? Around midnight we could hear the tv from next door, luckily front desk sent someone up within minutes. This was more an unlucky experience with inconsiderate guests next door, but soundproofing could be improved as we could hear their doorbell loud and clear when front desk came up to check the situation. Anyway we checked out a day earlier as we didn’t feel comfortable and well-rested.

Checking in was smooth and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location. It’s near to Nagoya Hill Mall. Many eateries and massage services are nearby. Will certainly stay in this hotel again!!

Wonderful stay with excellent service and convenient location. The hotel staff were always cheerful, polite and professional. Making us feel welcome throughout the stay. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast offered a reasonable variety with enough choices to start the day. The location is very convenient. Less than 10 mins grab from Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal and a 10-min walk to Nagoya Hill mall. There are also plenty eateries and minimarts nearby.

Very convenient and clear. Aircon is cold . Service not bad . The breakfast is amazing.

After a friendly & fast registration, we were told the room wasn't ready yet which was fine since we were an hour early. Decided to have coffee at the hotel's coffeehouse while we waited. About 15 minutes later the very nice front desk officer (didn't take down his name, sorry!) actually came over to our table with our room key to let us know our room was ready. Our room was a smoking room on the 17th floor. It was a very decent sized room with a comfortable extra sized king bed & large tv screen. Fridge & aircon was cold, bathrobes & slippers provided. Loved that each side of the bed had power outlets. The bathroom mirror has backlit lights that are controlled with a touch button on the mirror itself. Water pressure & water temperature control were great. The shower stall was big, which I appreciate. I have to make a special mention about breakfast. Halfway through our meal, we saw some of the staff standing by the wall. They stood evenly spaced out all through the restaurant. I thought, hmm, maybe a vip is coming. Music came on, so then i thought somebody's birthday? My jaw dropped a bit when they started dancing haha. I've gone to dinners that came with a show but this was the first time I've seen a breakfast show. Bravo though to all the staff for being so sporting!! Not sure if breakfast needed a show but it was certainly very entertaining lol. Food was good, amazing spread with lots of variety. Seating was spaced out so it didn't feel cramped. Lovely decor & quick on the plate clearing. All in all, this was a very good stay. My first time at a harris property & definitely won't be my last.

Staff and room were all great. Location was not too bad, quite easy to get a grab

The location is very convenient, high recommend for people who want to explore around here
