Royal Orchid Metropole Mysore

Beautiful hotel, stunning room and a great meal in the restaurant. Reception/porter staff were great. Lost a star purely because the waiter staff both evening meal and breakfast gave the impression they were not interested. My chair was wet after rain and I was offered it to sit on, no cushion etc. And the breakfast was mediocre to average at best. The evening meal itself was really good. We would come back.

A friend and I enjoyed a wonderful three-night stay at the Royal Orchid Metropole. My room was spacious and very clean with modern amenities but a strong historical atmosphere. We enjoyed visiting the spa for massages, and the buffet breakfast and courtyard restaurant served reliably good food. The staff members were so helpful in arranging drivers for sightseeing and answering all our questions. The location is also really convenient. This was my first trip to Mysore, but this hotel was highly recommended to me by someone who is a regular business traveler. I hope to return and would definitely stay here again.

The Maharaja Suite at the Metropole is one of the best experiences I have had. The balcony / terrace is so lovely, I would be ready to spend the night there. And the service was lovely too. I would love to go back and spend a few more days amidst the green.

The hotel is amazing, truly such a wonderful experience, from good rooms, good balcony, good bathrooms, to being well maintained, the only huge negative in my experience was their restaurant & food. Portion sizes are small which would be justified if the food tasted good. The kasturi kebab on day 1 was dry and didn't even have salt, the broccoli creme soup as well as the lemon grass soup were also equally bland, couldn't taste the broccoli, nor did it even have salt. Same story on day 2, when we asked for a beautiful birthday decoration+ dinner, the deco was wonderful, dinner was again a let down. Their lemongrass pulao is probably the worst thing I've ever had, not even adding salt could salvage it, horrible. Plus they levy 10% Service Charge without our consent which is illegal and cannot be appreciated by guests, especially since we already tipped the staff generously. The breakfast spread is also very sus, I found a bug in the cinnamon roll, spotted something floating in the milk jar, the restaurant is truly the sore spot. The reception desk is fine, the room service ladies are wonderful, but my experience was definitely a mix bag.

We recently stayed at Royal Orchid Metropole in Mysore for 2 days. This 104 year old heritage hotel, originally built by the Maharaja of Mysore in 1920, perfectly blends old-world charm with modern elegance. The architecture, with its imperial arches, impressive pillars, and flamboyant corridors, takes you back in time, while the luxurious amenities make for a comfortable stay. We stayed in the Luxury Heritage room with a lawn view, and it was both spacious and beautifully designed. The grand bath tub was a treat. Another highlight was the horse cart ride arranged by the hotel, which took us around the palace—such a unique experience that truly m atched the grandeur of the property. The dining options were top-notch too. We enjoyed meals at Shikari, their outdoor barbecue restaurant and Tiger trail. Overall,We loved the peaceful & tranquil environment of this property and the warm hospitality by the staff. The best part is they are not over priced too. A perfect stay to feel like royalty. Highly recomended

Even before stepping through the door, you had an amazing impression of the hotel. The aura is just perfect, and from the get go you could see how welcoming and friendly the staff are. They were always happy to help with a smile, and worked very efficiently. The room we were in was the right mix of modern with the old decadence of the building. The restaurant too was very good - I would highly recommend the tandoori chicken. Every touch, from the PS4, to the perfect little pool I spent at least 2 hours in - all perfect. I can’t recommend this hotel more!
