Unser Zimmer war gross und ungemütlich. Das Badezimmer riesig, aber völlig unpraktisch: Beim Duschen nässt man auch bei grosser Vorsicht alles ein. Beim Frühstück gibt es den tollen Blick auf den Mekong umsonst. Das Angebot ist ok., aber nicht mehr. Das Personal ist freundlich, sehr häufig sind die Sprachbarrieren fast nicht zu knacken, d.h. viele Angestellte sprechen absolut kein Englisch.

Die Aussicht aus den Zimmern und von der Terrasse mit sauberen Pools ist ausgezeichnet. Für das Hotel sprechen große Zimmer und Bäder, etwas rustikal aber ok, und gute Betten. Dagegen spricht der mangelhafte Service im Restaurant und das miserable WLAN in den Zimmern. Das Essen im Restaurant ist eher bescheiden, jedoch ist es in den umliegenden Restaurants auch nicht besser.

Mir ist klar, dass dies auf keinen Fall ein 5-Sterne-Hotel ist, aber was ich unabhängig von der Anzahl der Sterne erwarte, ist eine saubere Unterkunft, gutes Essen und guter Kundenservice von freundlichem Personal. Leider hat es in all diesen Bereichen gefehlt. Das Positive: Der Pool war herrlich und bot Blick auf den Mekong. Die Zimmer waren groß, bitten Sie um eines im obersten Stockwerk für die beste Aussicht. Das nicht so Gute: Die Bettdecke war zwischen zwei Laken eingeklemmt und nicht als Bettbezug gedacht. Die Laken waren zwar sauber, aber die Bettdecke hatte Flecken. Dem Personal schien es an Führung durch das Management zu mangeln und es fehlte an grundlegender Schulung im Kundenservice. Sie lächelten nicht, manche ignorierten einen, wenn man (auf Laotisch) Hallo sagte, räumten Teller nicht weg, man musste um Besteck bitten und zu geschäftigen Frühstückszeiten achteten sie nicht auf die Kaffeemaschine (der ständig das Wasser ausging) oder ersetzten andere Dinge wie Milch, Obst usw. Eines Morgens wurden wir um 6 Uhr vom Personal geweckt, das die Tische von Tellern mit Essensresten vom Vorabend abräumte. Ich mag mir gar nicht vorstellen, welche Tiere über Nacht auf dem Tisch gestanden und Essensreste gefressen hatten. Im Zimmer roch es die ganze Zeit nach Lagerfeuer und man hatte nur eine kleine Flasche Wasser für zwei Personen. Die Handtücher rochen nicht frisch und waren fleckig. Die Sonnenliegen draußen hatten keine Polster und waren sehr unbequem. Wir haben nur einen Abend im Restaurant gegessen und das Essen war nicht so toll, also haben wir im Familienrestaurant die Straße hinauf gegessen, dessen Essen und Kundenservice erstklassig waren.

We stayed only 1 night at the hotel as we were visiting the Island as part of our tour. This is considered the best on the island and i know it's not 5 star but nonetheless it could have been better for its cleanliness, food and service. The Good Parts: Nice Pool, View from our room and Pool of Mekong and the sunrise and sunset was wonderfull. The hotel overlooks with an unobstructed view of the Mekong. The Rooms were Large - but for best views i would take room on top floor ( which we had) . Some of the not so great parts: The room on first appreances looked clean - but we found dust on several items in the room, and there were dead insects in places in the room, especially near windows and coners of the room, The Bathroom had a dead cockroach which my wife had to get a staff to come pick up - staff attitude was severally lacking in apology for it. The balcony had such great views but was dirty with bird droppings like it had not been cleaned for several days. Even though we enjoyed the view this uncleanliness spoilt the enjoyment. We found a number of restaurant staff would ignore you till they saw the hotel manager or the Restaurant manager. There is little or nothing to around the hotel so you ended up with eating at the hotel, but the food was just ok nothing great. The Breakfast buffet was ok and no complaints on it, This hotel with some due care and attention and better service from the staff could be a wonderful hotel, it has magnificent views.

Only stayed here for one night but would loved to have stayed longer! Beautiful location on the river bank with amazing views from the lovely rooms. Two great infinity pools also. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is fantastic. Rooms very large clean and comfortable and great beds and bathrooms Highly recommended. One of the best hotels we have stayed in whilst visiting Laos.

A lovely stay for just one night. The bed was very comfortable and the room nice and clean. It was great overlooking the river and pool. We were made very welcome. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had an excellent meal for a great price. The breakfast was lovely too. Thank you!

Hôtel bien placé au bord du Mékong Grande piscine agréable Hôtel basique et dans son jus , petit dej moyen , personnel laxiste et pas très agréable . Grande chambre avec clim défectueuse et très bruyante . Un compromis correct pour visiter les îles proches , sans plus .

Bel hôtel avec des chambres spacieuses avec une très jolie vue sur le Mekong. L'hôtel étant assez grand il y a souvent des groupes et c'est un peu bruyant. Petit déjeuner très bien. Nous ́avons pas testé le restaurant mais il y en a quelques uns à proximité.

Vi abbiamo soggiornato a cavallo tra il 2024 ed il 2025, per due notti, durante il nostro Viaggio in Laos. Mia moglie ed Io abbiamo apprezzato la struttura dell’Hotel, in parte un po' datata, ma con in corso opere di ristrutturazione e ampliamento di una nuova ala. Il Pon Arena Hotel è posizionato sull’isola di Don Khong, lungo la riva del fiume Mekong ed è attualmente costituito da due palazzine, una in prima linea lungo il fiume, l’altra in seconda fila oltre la strada. La nostra camera dava direttamente sul Mekong ed abbiamo goduto di una vista spettacolare, seduti sul nostro balconcino, ammirando entrambe le mattine un’alba spettacolare. La camera è realizzata in stile laotiano e dispone di cassaforte, televisione, frigorifero, macchina per il caffè e connessione wi-fi gratuita. L’hotel ha due piscine a sfioro lungo il Mekong molto belle, Noi abbiamo preferito quella di destra più tranquilla rispetto a quella di sinistra adiacente alla zona ristoro. La colazione pur semplice è’ risultata molto buona, così come più che discreta la cena alla carta, con ampia scelta di piatti asiatici. Personale molto cortese e gentile
