Based on my recent stay at Crowne Plaza Suites Pittsburgh South, I am conflicted about this rating. It might be more accurate at four stars for service, three stars for the hotel itself. Here’s why. About four stars for service . . . When I initially called the hotel or additional information after checking out their website, a front desk representative named Nico was extremely helpful. He took the time to provide details, listened to my specific needs and set up an appropriate reservation for me at a decent price. Good start! Upon my evening arrival, I found that the room included everything we had discussed. Many thanks to Nico for his assistance. Other front desk staff members were helpful during the stay. The name Kayla sticks in my mind. (No one asked me to write this review or mention names.) The three stars? A very average room in need of an update, difficult climate control, a worn mattress, cumbersome pillows, and a previously disclosed lack of food service. They also only do housekeeping twice a week. Clean towels are available upon request. Don’t get hungry here on a Monday or Tuesday, when the onsite restaurant is closed. Even when dining reopened on Wednesday morning, only a continental breakfast buffet (carb central!) was available. My guess? Staff shortages and/or no profitability. I wasn’t there later in the day. There is a tiny store in the lobby for a few packaged snacks and beverages. The hotel is centrally located for anyone visiting Bethel Park or Upper Saint Clair, with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. The room had adequate space with a decent TV. A little card listed all the channels. The inexpensive, thin carpeting was worn. Chairs had old, spotted upholstery. The room itself was clean, with the usual appointments. The mattress edges had been weakened over time, making it easy to slip off when sitting on the side of the bed. Have you ever seen the huge, poly-fill pillows used in some hotels, the ones that look good on the fully-made bed but are too bulky to sleep on comfortably? Yup, those pillows. Enough said. Climate control in the room was accessed through a thermostat on the wall rather than the unit itself . . . with confusing buttons and no instructions. It was either too warm in the room or freezing. In addition, the air flow from the unit curled refrigerated air toward the ceiling, down the opposite wall and then straight onto the bed. Would I stay there again? Maybe, but only for a fully updated room at a good price. Advice: bring your own pillows.

Really good location, just a few minutes walk from a very nice part of town. The hotel is very modern and comfortable with lovely amenities, including a pool and gym. Breakfast was generous although missing some bits, we were very happy. The room itself was very comfy and although the bedding wasn’t the nicest, it was very clean. I will say the area itself felt a little sketchy at night and we were concerned about the car, but all was fine. It was very different by day!

Ich verstehe wirklich nicht, wie sie 4 Sterne auf Google haben, alles, was ich denke ist Management, die ihre Mitarbeiter, Freunde und Familien zu ermutigen, Fehlerbewertungen zu schreiben, um ihre Score zu erhöhen. Ich will wirklich nicht glauben, dass eine Hilton-Marke so niedrig würde halten, aber dann scheint dieses Hotel wieder von sehr brutalen und unprofessionellen Leuten betrieben zu werden, so dass ich nichts ausschließen kann. Das Eigentum war alt und veraltet. Ich bin nicht super geil über solche Dinge, aber wenn mein Zimmer schrecklich riecht und die Decke im Badezimmer oben auf dem Tub ist zerbrochen und Trockenwände fallen auf mich während der Dusche, dann haben wir ein Problem. Ich verstehe, dass ein Gebäude veraltet wird, aber Wartung sollte nie hinterher fallen, vor allem in einer Hilton-Marke. Als Hilton Diamond-Mitglied, der immer mit der Marke auf dem Inlands- oder internationalen Wege verbleibt, ist das nicht das, was ich von ihnen erwartet habe. Darüber hinaus war das Personal extrem unhöflich, brutal und unweltgefällig. Sie scheinen alle, als wollten sie nicht da sein und hatten alle den schlimmsten Tag nach ihrer Körpersprache und Verhalten gegenüber dem Gast. Ich reiste mit meinem Partner und sie ist ein verdammter Heiliger und wollte niemanden stören oder jemanden in Schwierigkeiten bringen, sie sagte mir, es war nur ein 3-Nacht-Stadt und nur zu lassen, so habe ich nichts gesagt, während wir da waren. Nun kam die letzte Tropfen, als wir nach Hause kamen und ich saß, und ging, um die Rezepte aus dem Hotel zu überprüfen (Side-Note-Ich prüfe meist nicht meine Hilton Rezepte bis ein paar Tage nach dem Auschecken, aber diese Leute inspirierten kein Vertrauen in mich). Ich bin froh, dass ich geprüft habe, weil es eine $267 Reinigungsgebühr beigefügt war. Ich habe das Hotel sofort angerufen, aber der Agent sagte, er wusste nicht, was die Reinigungsgebühr bedeutete, so dass ich am nächsten Morgen zurückrufen musste, um mit seinem Manager Rebecca zu sprechen. Ich rief am nächsten Morgen an und bat um Rebecca zu sprechen, sie schickten mich an ihre Stimme, so dass ich müde war, wie ein verdammter Ball zu werfen und beschlossen, den Diamantentisch zu rufen. Sie kontaktierten das Hotel und ließen mich mit jemandem reden (diese Person war nicht der Manager Rebecca, es war ein Front Desk Agent) Die Dame sagte, die Reinigungsgebühr sei für Rauchen. Jetzt war ich wirklich geirrt, ich habe Asthma und offensichtlich nicht rauchen überhaupt, und auch mein Partner raucht nicht, sie trinkt nicht einmal. Ich erklärte, dass es nicht möglich war, dass wir in diesem Zimmer rauchen konnten und fragte, was bewiesen wurde, dass sie diese Erklärung machen und mir eine Gebühr zahlen müssen, ohne mich vor dem Hotel zu informieren, Die ganze Dame sagte, es riecht wie jemand rauchte. Ich wiederhole, es sei nicht möglich, und sie sagte das gleiche.

Es war sauber und das Personal war super schön. Sie sind nicht für die Bar oder Restaurant-Bereich ausgebildet, da sie die Vordertafel Leute auch für diese Bereiche arbeiten. Essen wurde nicht für das, was das Menü sagt und keiner von ihnen weiß, wie man Getränke zu vermischen. Sie wissen es nicht. Sie werden es Ihnen sagen. Ein arbeiter sagte, wir können keine Nahrung bestellen, weil er die einzige Person war. Frühstücksmahl ist nur ok, wenn Sie Gummi-Eier oder Eier in einer seltsamen Flüssigkeit mögen. Andere Wahlen waren jedoch gut. Es wurde getroffen und Miss. Zimmer waren sauber und geräumig. Sehr schöner Zusatz, den Sektionsschlaf in den Zimmern zu haben. Alles in allem, wir würden wieder da bleiben. Es ist mehr von einem Komforthotel. Erwarte nicht, dass es ein Resort ist. Es kann sich als phänomenal erweisen, wenn sie die Nahrung und Bar korrigiert haben.

I always start a review with the positives. I also don't like to be part of the problem but part of the solution and try to always offer helpful suggestions if I make a valid complaint. That said... The room at the Holiday Inn PIT Airport was PRETTY clean. I saw dark, long hairs on the bathroom floor (my hair is short and blonde,) and in the tub which led me to think the bathroom wasn't clean. However, the toilet and sink were seemingly wiped down and plenty of towels were accessible. The beds are comfy, the rooms are large, and we appreciate the outdoor pool in the warmer months. My husband and I stay here quite often, as many as 4 times a year or more, often with a multi-night stay, and we enjoy using the pool. The location for us is convenient to restaurants, shopping and the airport. Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport in general meets our needs. The breakfast is very good. Lots of a variety of hot foods and coffee. The waitstaff is always helpful in bringing out supplies, refilling coffee, hot food, a ”to go” bag if needed, etc. That all said, there is this very heavy set MEAN blonde lady with glasses that makes us cower and cringe each time we enter the hotel. We DON'T want to ask her for anything as she ALWAYS makes us feel like we are BOTHERING her. She seems to work the day shift, from early morning til 3 p.m. or so, as we have noticed and we try to make my requests and ask questions AFTER she is gone for the day. How ridiculous is this?!! Case in point: During one particular stay, I asked for more bars of soap for our room. I prefer bar soap. I shouldn't have to feel ”sheepish” about asking. They are mini and not full-sized bars of soap. We usually stay an average of 3 nights when we come to town and the hubs and i prefer bar soap to the bodywash and need more than one teensy bar for the two of us between the shower and sink for 3 days of usage. Get this one....She told us to use the bodywash in the containers on the shower wall and asked us if we had checked to see if the container of body wash was full!!!?? She seems to like to provoke an ARGUMENT! Then she preceded to tell us how she was instructed to hand out the minimum as in the case of the soap. I was thinking: ” Lady, please just open the drawer behind you and give us the dang soap!!” It's NOT a difficult request. I'm thinking: What happened to the old adage, ”The customer is always right?” The staff certainly should not ARGUE with the customer. A hotel front desk clerk works in the hospitality business and should provide the customer with ”hassle free” service. NOT! We don't ask for much. We don't ask for the room to be serviced with fresh towels, etc. during our usual 2 to 3 night stay. Was asking for mini bars of soap too difficult of a request? Today in our hotel room, I went to wash my hands after leftovers from an early lunch (around 11:00 a.m.,) to find that there was NO WATER. It had obviously been shut off. Why? We called the front desk to find out what happene
