Hotels mit Bergblick in Franz Josef

We had booked for 2 nights and left after the first night. The washing machine located on the premises and advised to be used by the staff destroyed approximately $600 of laundry that was washed. The blaze, indifferent and eye rolling response from the ‘owner’ was frustrating and unhelpful. After being fobbed off to deal with someone called Logan, his unprofessional business manner and redirection of blame to me was flabbergasting and amazing. After reading Tripadvisor reviews, there is a clear connection with Logan being a previous owner or manager of the motel and now has a strange connection with the faulty laundry that is everyone else’s fault but his. As our stay continued there were more issues to arise. The room was stifling hot. I appreciate that NZ motels are not use to this warm weather and therefore to not have air conditioning but to not include a fan is terrible. We struggled to sleep the first night as we could not get a breeze in the room. Our room backed directly onto the Alice May restaurant which created loud operation noise, cooking smells and light from the restaurant. The bed was far from comfortable. Even though the bed is a King bed capable of becoming 2 singles, there should be a mattress topper on the bed to alleviate the ridge down the middle and the fact the beds are hard and probably old. The linen smelt of oil or cooking fats, I can only assume this is because of the location of the restaurant or the fact the motels washes and dries the towels in full public view in the car park exposed to air from the restaurant. The Terrace was the 6th hotel we had stayed in during our time in NZ. The bathroom amenities they provided are exactly the same brand that some others have provided…the only difference, this motel has obviously watered down the amenities. They were watery and ineffective. Much like the amenities, the shower head in the room was ineffective and pathetic. Cleary during their recent ‘refurb’ these new shower heads had been installed. Unfortunately, ours sprayed every direction but where is should and if you had it turned down too low there was no water but have it too high and it would sting you. The next morning, we decided we could not stay an extra night at the property and checked into another motel for the night. There are plenty of other and no doubt better options in Franz Joseph.

Franz Josef ist ein kleines modernes Dorf. Es ist nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß vom Bella Vista Motel zum Restaurant, Vier Platz und DOC Informationszentrum. Schöner Blick von unserem Zimmer bis zum Schneebedeckten Bergtops. Wir wurden einer Familie von Kea gesagt, einen großen Baum draußen zu besuchen und wir hörten sie am nächsten Morgen vor Sonnenaufgang. Unser Zimmer war sauber und komfortabel.

Lovely motel cottage up the back of town, only a short distance to town and many local walks. The staff could not have been more helpful and provided a town map on arrival with recommendations for restaurants and walks. The room itself was a good size with a small kitchenette and functional bathroom with good water pressure. The little balcony out the front provided a good spot to have lunch or read a book when it wasn't raining, with views over the surrounding mountains. Parking spaces were allocated for all cottages. This was the perfect place to base ourselves for 3 nights while we explored Franz Josef and Fox Glacier.

Mein Partner und ich standen hier für eine Nacht, als wir eine Ökotouren-Reise gebucht hatten. Dies schien wie die beste Option in der Gegend und wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserer Auswahl. Das Paar, das uns begrüßte (Substitute für Freunde, die den Platz besitzen) war so süß! Sie waren etwas älter und ich würde sie gerne adoptieren! Ein- und Auschecken waren einfach. Füllende Parkplätze. Das Zimmer war geräumig, unverschämt sauber und ruhig. Wir hatten eine tolle Nacht im Schlaf! Es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe (das Paar war genügend freundlich, um uns eine Karte der Gegend und empfehlen einige), sowie eine Gasstation (wichtig!). Es ist schön, viele Berge um. Wir empfehlen diesen Ort HOCH.

Brillante Lage und Aussichten, wunderbare Kabinen und ruhig. Wir beschlossen, hier 2 Nächte zu bleiben, nachdem der Regen in der Stadt gefallen war und unsere Reise langsam abzuhalten. Die Lage ist ca. 5 km von Franz Josef selbst entfernt, aber der Vorteil ist die Ruhe und ruhige und große Kabinen. Die Kabinen hatten eine gut ausgerüstete volle Küche, große Lounge und Esszimmer und ein gut gemütliches Bad. Es gab 2 Heizungen im Zimmer, die uns die ganze Nacht Toast warm gehalten. Es gab DVDs im Rezeption für Sie kostenlos zu verwenden und der Gentleman an der Rezeption war freundlich und gab uns eine frische Milch zu genießen eine Tasse mit an der Ankunft. Wir werden sicher zurückgehen und auf unsere nächste Reise nach NZ bleiben.

Das Buffet-Nachtessen ist für ein solches Hotel eine schlechte Visitenkarte. Leider ist es nicht möglich, ein frischzubereitetes Menü zu konsumieren. Auf dem Buffet steht das Essen wahrscheinlich schon lange vor der Öffnungszeit bereit. Entsprechend zäh ist das Fleisch. Die Zutaten sind ausgetrocknet. Schade! Le repas du soir sous forme de buffet est une mauvaise carte de visite pour un tel hôtel. Malheureusement, il n'est pas possible de consommer un menu fraîchement préparé. Sur le buffet, la nourriture est probablement déjà prête bien avant l'heure d'ouverture. En conséquence, la viande est dure. Les ingrédients sont desséchés. Dommage ! The buffet dinner is a poor business card for such a hotel. Unfortunately, it is not possible to consume a freshly prepared menu. On the buffet, the food is probably ready long before opening time. The meat is correspondingly tough. The ingredients are dried out. What a pity!

Das Zimmer ist groß mit 2 Toiletten und einem kleinen Holztisch draußen. Der Service ist gut, das Zimmer ist sauber, es wird empfohlen zu leben! NETTES HAUS!

Das Zimmer ist zu kalt im Winter. Es ist nicht warm genug.

Wir reisen oft von Nelson nach Wanaka und brechen immer die Reise in Franz Josef Alpine Glacier ist unser Motel der Wahl im Franz /Fox Bereich. Es ist geräumig warm und sauber und in der Spazierweiterung aller Restaurants.. Was mehr könnten Sie wollen!!!!
