Found this hotel by accident scrolling around the internet when our Air B n B fell through for our first night of a multi night visit to Charleston. What a find! We were lucky they had a room available for the one night we needed it! David, Garrett and Amy treated us like we were staying with friends! They could not have possibly been more helpful, kind, gracious and charming! Absolutely fantastic! Kind of extraordinary in these staff-challenged times we are living in, but seriously, this trio....really made our stay something extra special just by how congenial and welcoming they were! We had King bed room with a balcony overlooking the The Community Table restaurant which is attached to the hotel. The weather was gorgeous the 2 days we were there so there were people enjoying the outdoor dining below our balcony but since the restaurant closed by 10, noise was never an issue at all. By the way, do have a meal at the Community Table. We had a table on their semi enclosed porch, excellent ambience, service and food! Back to our room at I'on! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom looked like a fairly new renovation. The decor was low country charming and so beautiful! Our door opened out to a balcony that had 2 rocking chairs and a small table where we enjoyed the late evenings with the ocean air and watching the comings and goings on the street below. They include a breakfast that comes in a to-go brown carry out type container which we ate on the balcony. You choose from like 3 possibilities on a card the night before and specify what time you want it delivered. Presentation wasn't great, but quality was decent and since it's included in your room it's fast and easy way to get on your way. The food is prepped by the kitchen staff of the Community Table. The Inn is located on a little square with handful of other restaurants and some shops. Easy location to drive to historic Charleston or out to the beaches of Isles of Palms and Sullivans. The community of I'on where the inn is located is off the charts beautiful. We maxed out our time and both days enjoyed nice walks through the neighborhood down to the inlet/harbor in the community. One home is absolutely more gorgeous than the next. We are from the Midwest - far up north. This was not our first time to Charleston, but was our first time to Mt. Pleasant and I'on. One thing that struck me was how friendly and outgoing everyone was. You couldn't pass by a yard or a person on the street without them calling out and greeting you. I loved it! We would absolutely hope to be able to stay here again on our next visit to the area but it is small and only has less than a dozen rooms I think. So, we will have to time it just right! Which we most definitely will! A couple of things. Parking - each unit gets on designated dedicated numbered parking spot on site. Yes, it is an older historic building. And just like a house, you can hear people in the rooms on either side of you. The balconies
