We had a wonderful stay at Castel Pietraio. The apartment is a little dated but the antique furniture fits with the history of the castle. The rooms in the main building are more modern but keep the feel of the castle. Breakfast was good and plentiful and we ate there 1 evening which was also good. The location is great to explore Tuscany and only 10 minutes from Monteriggioni which has a number of good options for dinner. The stay was made even better by our wonderful host, Caterina, who was so welcoming and informative.

This place is so cool! A real castle with amazing countryside surrounding it. The room was fabulous: sumptuos furnishing, excellent bathroom fixtures, comfortable bed, motorized window shutters. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The property grounds are amazing. We were so sorry to leave after just one night. There is no dining nearby, so plan accordingly.

Delightful hotel, with a few minor adjustments would really improve the experience - although we had a great time here and would come back. The grounds of the medieval are astonishingly beautiful. The breakfast is fab, the pool is wonderful and the rooms are fine - although a bit basic. Could do with somewhere to place suitcases ( rather than on the floor) and could do with a full length mirror - but these are small details. More of a problem was the lack of availability of coffee or tea. No restaurant after breakfast and no kettle in room. The staff however made up for this. Louisa, our receptionist, was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and she often came to the rescue when we needed cabs as we had only one car .

Awful service, simply rude owners . Not to recommend for anyone at any price. There are so many places in the same area with better service and facilites. Spare your time, money and headache and find something else. The room smells like urine, there was faeces on the toilet despite it being a newly checked in room, the pool is dirty with yellow stains on the edges, the air conditioning does not work and the bed has a hole between the mattresses which makes it uneven. 0/0 stars.

The hotel is very unique and quite interesting to stay in. Rooms are basic, small and extremely cold this time of year. Only a sheet and thin bed spread - no additional blankets. The heating was noisy and had little effect. Breakfast was OK, although they must have had a new coffee machine as they didn't seem to know how to use it and the coffee was cold.

We had the most amazing stay, especially thanks to Gabriella who gave us the best service and showed us a great spirit, that made a huge difference for our stay. The castle was a pearl, but Gabi was a flawless diamond. Thanks for everything! Ps. We forgot the post office! ;)

This is really a castle with very good facility. Nice room and staff super nice. Reason i don’t give 5 is because they call it wine resort. They have wineyard, we visted also, we had a glass of wine when we check in, but as wine resort name i was expecting a nice wine tasting, more involvement in their production, which it what i was expected by a wine resort

Struttura molto bella vicina a Monteriggioni, in posizione incantevole, offre stanze ed appartamenti.Le camere sono confortevoli , pulite e ben arredate. Il tutto in atmosfera caratteristica molto curata.Ottima la colazione, anche se attualmente servita in una sala abbastanza fredda.Non economico, ma il borgo vale la pena
