Auf einem Hügel mitten im Wald liegt dieses kleine Hotel, diese Oase der Ruhe! Die Straße, die dorthin führt ist schmal und die letzten 0,8 km Schotter, aber selbst mit Anhänger und zwei Motorrädern drauf gut zu schaffen, wenn kein Gegenverkehr kommt :-) Wir haben von dort auch Ausflüge auf unseren Motorrädern gemacht und die Schotterstraße stellte keine große Herausforderung für mein Naked Bike dar! Anfang Oktober verbrachten wir fünf Nächte in einer Prestige Suite (zwei Schlafzimmer, zwei Bäder: ein Bad war groß mit einem Jacuzzi und Fenster mit Ausblick, das zweite Bad war klein, ohne Fenster und mit einer ziemlich kleinen Duschkabine) und einem Wohnbereich mit Kamin! Insgesamt hat uns die Prestige Suite sehr gut gefallen - wir haben uns wohlgefühlt! Die Betten sind sehr bequem und nachts herrscht himmlische Ruhe! Frühstück und Dinner werden in einem schönen Innenhof draußen serviert, wenn es das Wetter zulässt. Es gibt kein Buffet, sondern man sucht sich mit Hilfe einer Karte alles aus, was man fürs Frühstück braucht: Kaffee, Brot (selbstgebacken!), Butter, Marmelade, Aufschnitt, Käse uvm. sind im Preis inbegriffen, für Rühreier, Säfte usw. muss man extra bezahlen, man bekommt aber eine ordentliche Portion und geschmeckt hat es auch sehr gut, da es frisch zubereitet wird! Auf Allergiker wird Rücksicht genommen, sowohl beim Frühstück als auch beim Abendessen, das aus einem festem Menu besteht. Manchmal dauert es ein klein wenig bis man bedient wird, aber was soll's? Man ist im Urlaub und sitzt in einer wunderschönen Umgebung. Das Essen schmeckt fantastisch und wird von Francesca, die immer für einen netten Plausch zu haben ist, jeden Tag frisch zubereitet. Diana liest beim Servieren den Gästen jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab, Gloria kümmert sich perfekt um die Sauberkeit der Suites und Aldo, der unentbehrliche Mann für alles, ist auch für den schönen Garten verantwortlich. Rosaria von der Rezeption, fragt immer wieder, ob alles in Ordnung sei und wenn nicht, dann wird sofort an einer Lösung gearbeitet! Sie alle sind wunderbare Menschen und verantwortlich dafür, dass wir unseren Urlaub wirklich sehr genossen und dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Vielen Dank dafür! Alexandra uns Thomas

Beautiful old estate out in the sticks, a 20 minute drive to Siena, not ten as some will say. There is about a kilometer of gravel road as you near the house, but otherwise the roads back to town are very good. There is also a nice supermarket as you come into the outskirts of Siena. The hotel setting is just gorgeous. The pic of the little seating area with the hillside in front of you is a place where you could just sit all day and sip your wine or coffee while enjoying the view. The pool is up the hill so it has the best views of Siena and the hillside. The breakfast was minimal, but the cappuccinos were excellent. We eat dinner early, so we did not have dinner there, but it looked and smelled great when we walked by the dining area. The chef was very helpful in getting us more firewood one night, even though that was not his job. Yes, we had a fireplace in our unit and we lit it all three nights we were there. We sat on the couch in front of the fire and read and watched TV, very cozy. I do have one complaint about the TV... It was all in Italian, even the American movies. lol. The bed was comfortable. I read some complaints about the WiFi. It worked fine for us. The spa looked great. There was a giant hot tub and a massage area. The price to use the spa was 150 euros for 2 hours. Sadly, I am a bit of a cheap ba$+@rd, so we did not try it out. My wife and I agreed that this was the favorite place we stayed on our two week trip. Would absolutely stay there again.

This is a beautiful place with stunning views, great accommodation and facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The only negative to this gorgeous part of Tuscany is the approach which is a narrow steep dirt track which requires a confident attitude to driving.

We had an excellent stay at the Relais La Costa Dimore Storica. We were there for 8 days and did day trips to the various towns in Tuscany. The manager, Margherita, was wonderful in ensuring all was well with our stay and provided daily road trip ideas. Stefano, our host and server throughout our stay, was an ambassador for the Relais. A true gentleman who tended to all the details and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The Relais itself is beautifully restored and well maintained. Our bedroom was large and spacious with a separate living room. The bathroom was small with limited space to put your toiletries and had a small shower. The cleaning staff were occasionally remiss in replacing the towels when we placed them on the ground and providing soap, but this was very minor and rectified when requested. They serve an excellent breakfast which we ate on the patio. The fixed tasting dinner menu was very good as well. Small portions consisting of an appetizer, pasta dish, meat dish and dessert, however, some dishes became repetitive if you had dinner more than 3 nights in a row. I would highly recommend the Relais La Costa Dimore Storica. It is a very peaceful place to stay.

A peaceful and enveloping environment in a sublime location. The hotel is reached by ascending a winding road through rolling hills and cypress groves. We arrived at dusk and the stone walls of the ancient convent were pink gold. The rooms are large, comfortable and very well appointed. The amenities were top shelf and the soaps and lotions were, of course, olive oil based. A bountiful breakfast is served on the hillside courtyard. The selections include Tuscan specialties, great cheeses and pastries. All breakfasts were individually prepared and served by the cook herself. Finally there is a grey pool at the top of the terraced hill( where many of the vegetables and fruits served at breakfast are grown) is a pool with an unimpeded view of the hills, vineyards, valleys and woods all the way to Siena.

Elisa and her team were amazing, attending to the finest detail with-out fuss. Our stay was intimate and relaxed, just what we needed after touring some of the bigger destinations. The Hotel is an excellent location to experience what Tuscany has to offer, being a Tuscan Villa restored to the highest standard yet still authentic. The food is incredible and the dinner degustation menu is a must. They catered to my gluten intolerance with-out fuss and the quality is amazing. This Hotel is an excellent choice!

Lovely historic boutique hotel with great views of Tuscany. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite which offered us plenty of space to relax and hangout. Each room is unique due to the nature of this historic building. Daly's breakfast selection is great and the staff is very friendly and supportive. They also offer a farm-to-table dinner which you are strongly recommended to make reservations for. The location is a bit remote but you can easily drive to quite a few nearby towns, including Siena.

We had a great stay in this lovely, comfortable boutique hotel made up of beautifully restored old buildings with great views across the Tuscan countryside towards Siena. All members of staff looked after us well and they are obviously very passionate about what they do. The chef, Francesca's, tasting menus were a delight.

From the moment we arrived at Relais La Costa we knew it was special. The warmth of the greeting from the Resident Manager Elisa and her staff made us feel welcomed and valued. The residence itself is a truly magnificent property with every detail catered for. Our luxury suite was beautifully furnished and you feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. Elisa even arranged bike hire for us to explore the countryside! - nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was incredible - we thanked Francesca the chef as I cannot recommend the 4 course tasting menu highly enough, it was truly special and Mattia is such a great dinner host with advice on the wine list and drinks menu and gave us some interesting facts on how Relais came to be a luxury hotel. A lovely breakfast sets you up for the day and the choice of the spa or the pool or exploring the nearby town of Monteriggioni means you can soak up the Tuscan warmth! - the views from the top of the property are outstanding, you could spend hours just relaxing and listening to the sound of nature, very calming. We cannot thank Elisa and her team enough, we take away memories that will last us a lifetime but we intend to return as once you stay there you will definitely want to return one day. A true Italian gem!
