If you're looking for a great place to chill Herdade da Corte is where you need to go. A Rio Grande style and feel about it, surrounded by fabulous hilly views, orange, lemon trees, olive groves, and pure adulterated silence. You hear the whisper of the breeze throughout the outdoor areas which have casual seating dotted about, a sweeping view, and a to die for salt-water pool. If you want 5 star service and a butler this isn't the place for you! Our favourite time of the day was a leisurely hour and half munching our way through the buffet breakfast, consisting of 4 different freshly made juices, a good selection of local produce, bread, rolls, pastries and cake, cheese, cold meats, fruits, yoghurt, and natural cereals - while idly looking out to the hills. There's also an array of teas, and the coffee is via a machine which is good - but goat's milk! We've travelled the world extensively and it's rare to find such a place. If you want to jazz up your time there Tavira is charming, along with Tavira Island. You do need a car if you stay at Herdade and want to visit many areas, however, we had read other reviews and knew that - but we just wanted to relax there and do nothing! We stayed 4 days and did venture out 1 afternoon to a restaurant in St Luzia. Local taxi, very nice driver. 20 euro each way (same prices to Tavira) about 15 minutes journey. The owners Joao and Francisco are cool, interesting guys, very helpful, and knowledgeable about the area , local produce, wines, and activities to do there - hiking, etc. Good massage also available in relaxing room. €50 Personally speaking, we dossed (an English word for lazing about) around the pool , helping ourselves to the well-stocked honesty bar, with the occasional beer/glass of wine, absorbed in a few good crime novels. Please note: after breakfast there is NO food available until 7pm. We knew that and brought along our own snacks, nuts etc. The evening menu is mainly cold, very good local produce - oh, please try the prawns (they hot). We tried almost everything on the menu during our stay - couldn't fault anything. My husband arrived completely knackered (another old-school word for tiredness) and after almost 4 days rooted to the place said he felt like the Six Million Dollar Man! Nachdem wir die ersten 1-2 Nächte etwas Anlaufschwierigkeiten hatten (Zimmer etwas hellhörig bei sehr aktiven Nachbarn...;-)) haben wir uns wirklich unglaublich wohl gefühlt und hatten einen fabelhaften Aufenthalt. Das Hotel ist nicht zu groß, so dass alles im Hotel sehr übersichtlich und schnell zu erreichen ist. Der Poolbereich ist wirklich sehr schön. Frühstücksbuffet sehr gut. Es gibt natürlich entsprechende Hygienemaßnahmen, die aber nicht weiter stören, außer dass sehr viel Müll anfällt. Das a la Carte Restaurant bietet sowohl für Hotelgäste täglich ein individuelles 3 Gänge Menu (+ Brot und Gruß aus der Küche) für unschlagbare 20 Euro an, sowie raffinierte, teils gehobene à la Carte Speisen an. Live-Musik vielleicht etwas störend, wenn man in Ruhe essen will. Wenn man nur auf einem Drink im Restaurant ist, passt das perfekt:-) Wellnessbereich derzeit pandemiebedingt noch geschlossen. Das Hotel ist ”adult only”, was wir als wirklich sehr angenehm empfanden, da es einfach deutlich leiser in allen Bereichen ist Wir würden das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist die Parkplatzsituation. Die Parkplätze am Hotel sind meistens belegt. Tiefgarage gegen Gebühr von 5 Euro täglich. Man findet aber dafür problemlos Parkplätze an der Straße

We loved it - where else could one stay at a former Roman palace for 200 euro a night ?! Beautiful outdoor pool with panoramic view, perfectly manicured garden, excellent breakfast, there is even an exhibition onsite. Our room (superior category) is spacious and also has a balcony , although we spent little time in room, there are gorgeous lounges with antiques and patios with flower garden view. Why would you stay in your room. We recommend 2 night stays and it is wonderful to enjoy the estate and there are SPA treatments, although we did not use it. The only catch is that it is 20 minutes from the beach. If you need to go to old town or beach, you need to drive a car (parking is included with spacious underground parking) or use Uber.

Hotel mit hervorragenden Einrichtungen. Der perfekte Ort, um die gute Zeit von Algarve zu genießen. Nahe einem fantastischen Strand. Das Paket von Choli war von Unterkünften und Frühstück. Der einzige Schwachpunkt war sogar die Qualität der Produkte im Frühstück. Die Saft sind sehr wenig Qualität, fast nicht vorhandene Mini-Küchen und viele schlechte Waffeln. Das Gleiche geschieht beim Abendessen. Wir haben beschlossen, im Hotel zu essen und das Buffet ist sehr schlecht und unqualitativ. Ich weiß nicht, ob es mit all-Paketen zusammenhängt, auch die meisten Gäste haben, aber ich denke, es ist ein Punkt, der für die Kundenzufriedenheit zu verbessern. Wir lieben es gleich, aber wenn ich zurückkomme, werde ich das Essen aus dem Hotel machen.
