Solar Alvura Health Hotel

On arrival, we called the buzzer , no reply after waiting several minutes for the gates to open, after buzzing in and calling the international number to open the gates. The hotel was literally in darkness and no one to be seen. The Manager met us and showed us to our room. The extractor fan cover was in the bathroom was on the floor. But the bathroom was modern. No tea making facility either. We found our way to the dining room. A group of weight loss retreat were having breakfast, which was meagre with a coffee machine that wasn’t great with a bowl of stagnant water in the sink. It became clear unless you are in a retreat there is literally nothing to do. The Hamman was unfinished. The pool was grubby with broken tiles. Our room door handle had to be pulled hard to open, the manager showed my daughter as he said ‘you’re on your own at night .’ This was a well needed holiday . So we had no option but to leave the first day. The manager seemed run of his feet , trying his best , with no support. When we said we were leaving , We asked for a taxi and were told to call our own.I messaged the hotel when we left, expressing our disappointment to no avail, as there was no response! This hotel was extremely over rated. It’s a hard 1-2 star B&B from us. We will never return . Nor recommend it. Early check in was the only good thing to say. I have never had to leave a hotel and incur charges to stay elsewhere. The best decision was to leave . We found a fabulous hotel to stay in after we left . Disappointed. This hotel needs an injection of investment to earn a 4*.

Wonderful experience meeting lovely people. Very helpful friendly staff, beautiful peaceful setting, gorgeous healthy food. Dr Eva made us all feel very welcome and at home and Sylvia gave us great yoga lessons with fantastic morning outings and fun sea swims after our evening yoga lessons. Perfect

This place is simply VIP class, what a place! From the moment you arrive you dont want to leave! The check in was so special, with Tiago showing us around and letting us choose our room. The facilities are incredible as is the food. A special mention to Vesna who looked after us throughout our stay and was incredible. The added bonus was Divo the pet donkey who wanders the orchard. What a character!! Simply, I dont say this lightly, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. So classy, so friendly and outstanding food and amenities. A gem of a place and we will be back soon

The hotel was beautiful and tranquil, clean, great food and in a peaceful area near to the beach. The rooms were large and comfortable, great bathrooms. There was a nice small gym and yoga studio. The staff were so incredibly helpful, I can’t recommend higher.

Just stayed at the beautiful Boutique Health Hotel, Solar Alvura, nestled in the untouched beauty of the eastern Algarve. They offer a range of health and wellness retreats but I enjoyed my freedom and created my own schedule, enjoying time by the pool which overlooks the orange grove, the DELICIOUS fresh meals and the local walks. I also had a well-needed massage at the beautifully appointed Spa. This property provides such a relaxing ambience, with well designed spaces and extremely comfortable rooms with crisp bedsheets. A hotel with health and wellness as it’s core ethos. From the moment I arrived until departure Solar Alvura exceeded my expectations. Dr Eva welcomed, cared for and nurtured me along with her team, especially Vesna who was so kind and helpful and we had great chats. I highly recommend this hotel.

A truly special place. Beautiful property, scenic snd serene, inviting public area with a fire place, lovely pool area, great patio (which we dined on for breakfast), cozy room with a nice bathroom. We enjoyed the location as within 20-30 minutes could get to Tavira and surrounding area with ease. But, we loved loved loved the staff. Vesna (see photo) greeted us and showed us around, made great lattes, was helpful at breakfast, and was genuine, friendly, and a lovely human. Tiago (see photo) was delightful too and was accommodating, and very friendly too, and he helped out at breakfast also. Also had enjoyable, spa services from a nice fellow thats was quite skilled at reflexology. Would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a holistically uplifting stay, with excellent service, at a fair price.
