Hillgrove Hotel, Leisure & Spa

Part of a group that just returned from a short break. Staff were nothing short of amazing. All went the extra mile to help and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Room was spacious, very large, excellent bathroom, and extremely clean. Between the group, 7 different mains were ordered during the stay, and all were top class. The pool and jacuzzi was also fantastic. Company also has an extremely positive ethos. Rewarded with a 5.00 voucher (to be used at bar or restaurant) for reducing laundry (towels). This was to assist in the greener objective. Additionally, as a parent of disabled children, to see the hotel employ disabled individuals was nothing short of outstanding. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Just spent one night at Hillgrove and one night was plenty. We booked the Honeymoon Suite...which turned out to be a room NOT a suite...I queried with reception but were told that room WAS the suite! It's not. . The DBB meal package we booked which is shown on their website included a glass of wine or beer each...the waitress and supervisor knew nothing of this offer and even though I showed them the website they refused to honour the deal...so we paid for the wine . When we got the bill it had our room number on it and we signed for amount...only to be phoned from reception 10 minutes later to come down and pay as we hadn't left a credit card on our account (we weren't asked to) ...it couldn't wait until checkout we had to come down then! It was quite embarrassing as it looked to all the people sitting in reception like we had walked out without paying The room although is supposed to be the height of romantic luxury and advertises mood lighting at the freestanding Bath had one light flickering, one light blinding bright and one light broken....the taps didn't match...one looked like a cheap kitchen tap....its poor for what is supposed to be the best room in the hotel. We brought all this to the attention of the duty manager but on checkout this morning ....it was just the normal "how was your stay"....it will be our last stay was my answer!

I had a family celebration in the Hillgrove Hotel in October 2024. Event management was excellent, service and organisation on the night was fantastic and we really enjoyed our time there. I highly recommend the Hillgrove Hotel for any event as it will be managed professionally and to a high standard.

I attended the hillgrove hotel for a wedding and couldn't get over how nice it was especially from how the clean the hotel was, the food was gorgeous, staff was so friendly and it's such a kids friendly hotel. I'm booking again for my sons first birthday. I would definitely reccomend this hotel

We stayed here for a wedding that was at St. Macartans Cathedral. The hotel is very elegant, the front desk staff was very nice, informative, and helpful. She helped us get into our room early since we were tired from traveling all day. The bed was one of the most comfortable that I’ve ever slept in. The bathroom had a shower and separate tub. The restaurant onsite was fabulous with good food and drink options. There’s plenty of free parking. You can easily walk to the cathedral and town center. We also drive 15 minutes to Castle Leslie Estate.

We held a conference recently in the Hillgrove Hotel. I just want to take this opportunity to thank Selene for all her help and patience while we were planning the event. I’d also like to thank Liz & the staff who were so good to us on the day itself, nothing was too much trouble. The scones and lunch were fabulous – a big thank you to the chef & restaurant staff. The whole day was fantastic and we received great feedback from everyone who attended.

Held a family event in the Dali suite on Sunday afternoon. Atmosphere was very relaxed. Hotel was fantastic from start to finish. Service and food was excellent. Had a 2 course menu. All ages were catered for. Staff very helpful when asked for extras.

Excellent food and service, a wedding planner that would put anybody at ease, a wonderful can do attitude from everybody. Clean comfortable rooms and a lovely atmosphere. Spa and leisure excellent. Would recommend to anybody. Simply can't wait to go back.

I recently organized and attended a function in the hotel and the hospitality was excellent. The food was lovely and the service was first class. Our function room was tastefully decorated. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend for a function
