I booked this hotel last-minute to get out of the freezing rain on a canyoneering trip. I spent 30 minutes trying to check into the room as the hotel wouldn’t take my credit card or my partner’s credit card. We were told it wasn’t our cards, but something in the system was broken. The front desk staff did not get along with eachother and there seemed to be distrust and frustration between them. I was quoted a rate $20 less than what I paid online and then was told that I would pay the cheaper price. When checking out, another concierge said the other concierge “shouldn’t have mentioned that price”. I received extensive apologies for the time and frustration caused, but wasn’t offered the lower price or ANYTHING to compensate for all the time I spent waiting on them to figure out how to check me into and then out of my room. Overall, I wasted an hour of my time with the front desk staff. They wanted me to wait around when their supervisor was expected to show up (on her day off), but I was so tired of the drama that I left. My friends and I wanted to rappel through a canyon before driving home that day and had no more time to wait. I am keeping a close eye on my bank account to ensure I’m not double charged for the stay.
