Have chosen to stay Premier Inn Milngavie many a time being just outside the city , free parking and a great restaurant/ pub on site but now that the restaurant is presently under changes , some permanent, it is no longer attracting us. No fault with the hotel as standards and cleanliness has remained but here are some of the changes and poor service of the ex Beefeater. Guests only as no longer a public restaurant or bar which was thriving at one time with guests , guests visitors and public. Since the changes we have visited early Dec and now presently staying again. Only half the tables being used leaving empty areas. Long service staff took redundancies so now less staff always under training. Breakfast Jan 1st only one ‘chef’ who again was training and just couldn’t cope eventually after waiting an hour during which many left we were eventually told sorry no more breakfast being served. Just couldn’t cope eventually after, really no fry ups prepared in advance so all cooked to order , couldn’t get requests correct , sole waiter didn’t have a clue what table the food was going to - going round at least 3 wrong tables. When leaving after being told no more being served loads of plates lined up on serving counter which staff ended taking nibbles from different plates. Offered refund but we hadn’t paid in advance anyway. No further compensation for next day etc so next morning we just popped along to nearby McDonald’s and we will continue doing for the next week. They have also lost our custom for the odd evening meal. Don’t know why the brewers changed something that was working well for many years. Tbh don’t think we will be booking Premier Milngavie again. Don’t think anything has changed with the Premier Bearsden, couple of hundred yards away as it’s operated by Green King - not Dryburgh so might try it. A shame.
