A stunning old palace with a long history in this border region of Poland close to Germany. Easy to reach (when you know where to go) about 2.5 hours from Berlin. Set in the typical landscape of forestry and agricultural lands, directly at the banks of the Warthe river you find the palace set in lush gardens with old trees that are holding hammocks for you to relax from the stress of the big city. Rooms in the main building are spacious and are matching the palace atmosphere. They have fully updated bathrooms and are overlooking the gardens. There are also some other buildings which you can rent for larger groups, be it family reunions or team building sessions. The restaurant serves a great buffet-breakfast and is then open again for late lunches and into the evenings. Not a given in rural settings in central Europe, they also have some vegetarian options on the menu that go beyond side dishes and a salad. I really enjoyed them. In winter the cellar bar will be a magnificent place to take your beers or to sample the big selection of rum and whisk(e)y which the boss has to offer. I am looking forward to that activity following a nice sweat in the sauna. One word of caution: At almost any given time the number of guests will outnumber the residents in the village. This is to illustrate that you should not expect to walk out the door and find an exciting night-life. But you really won't feel the need for that, I am sure ! Go and enjoy the great hospitality of Agatha and Tomek !
