Condesa df, Mexico City, a Member of Design Hotels

Everyone says Condesa is the coolest hotel in Mexico city and for the price you would think it would live up to the reputation. From arriving out front with two valet standing outside who did not help with the car doors or luggage, it felt confusing and like the hotel doesn’t realize it is considered a luxury destination. The front desk staff was stiff, overly factual and just plain confused. We had never received a confirmation of our hotel room so we booked again — had emailed months ago confirming we had only booked one room and if there was two to cancel the second — only got a response that our reservation was confirmed. Upon checking in they said we had two rooms booked and then were way too laborious in trying to understand the situation. Not offering anything to drink or to have us sit somewhere while we waited for them to resolve it. The room itself was comfortable enough despite being tiny (with a large balcony). The bed was comfortable, TV and bathroom worked well and housekeeping was fantastic. Otherwise the staff was just unhelpful in the wrong places — asking too soon and too often if we were done with things at breakfast but then absolutely zero toilet paper in the lobby women’s restrooms. The service priorities need to be shifted — warm familiar energy is needed + an ATM on site or a better recommendation than a 7-11 that is across the park. Don’t think we’d stay here again but honestly don’t know what other hotel is supposed to have good service and rooms that isn’t so sterile and businesslike.

This place absolutely SUCKS. The room is tiny and the bathroom is disgusting. Cracks in the floor, dirty shower, etc. The workers at the front desk are rude and unhelpful. They obviously delete negative google reviews- go to Yelp if you want to see what people REALLY think of Condesa DF.

My husband and I stayed here the last two nights of our CDMX vacation. We always save the best for last. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. The first night, the hotel hosted a wedding party. We were unable to visit the rooftop bar and the party lasted the entire night. It was so loud that we were unable to sleep for most of the night. We considered moving to another hotel just to try to sleep. Before coming to the Condesa hotel, we stayed at a more boutique spot for half the price. The rooms and bathrooms there were cleaner, much larger, and had a very unique style. The Condesa hotel felt like a beach party hotel that had been neglected design-wise. I could have overlooked all of that, but the lack of sleep put me in a mood. At the very least, you should be able to sleep in the hotel you book.
