Fabulous room and terrace, incredible location, very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent dinner, great wine and beautifully set out breakfast. Don’t miss this place. Also, you must walk up to the observation tower at Cloef. A very special place

It’s in a lovely location, just on the bend of the river, with walks, a kayak place and a viewing point nearby. The design inside and out is well thought out, we stayed in a double room in the main lodge but would love to try one of the individual apartments next to it. The staff are super friendly, rang us to say he was leaving in 10 minutes and where we would find the key, however we were only 10 minutes away so he stayed and greeted us, showed us to our room and even found us a gluten free restaurant to eat at nearby. The room was lovely and spacious, bed was comfortable plenty of room for the two of us (two single duvets provided), there were cupboards either side of the bed with lamps on and a full length mirror in one corner. The bathroom was next to the bedroom with a large walk-in cubicle shower big enough for a 6ft 3 broad person who also fit easily under the waterfall shower. A hand towel and bath towel each were provided and hand soap for the large sink. The extractor fan was rather noisy, especially with how close the bathroom is to the bed. The living space had a large suede type sofa which was comfortable, a desk with a chair and a freestanding single wardrobe with a couple of drawers if you wish to put any clothes away. The door to the terrace, by the desk, and window next to it provide great views of people rowing up and down the river on a sunny morning. The shared terrace was nice, plenty of space and seating for everyone and there was a large outdoor seating area with fire pits and an option to sit under cover at the front of the building too. The outside seating had floodlights on the floor which shone directly into our room, which would have been fine had there been curtains or blinds over the window. We were awake well into the night as it was way too bright in our room and bear in mind, other people sit out on the terrace in the morning so make sure you’re wearing clothes when you walk past the windows. Either black out blinds in the rooms or a more rustic style lighting around the seating area outside, which would be more in tune with the rest of the property, are needed.
