AluaSoul Menorca - Adults Only

Just returned today from hotel. Lovely welcome from staff. Rooms modern, lovely walk in shower. Rooms and linen smelt a little musty. Resort very quiet. Hardly anything there, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. You have to go across the road to the pool area, strange setup as privately owned. They have an adults only section with a smaller pool at the back. The spa pool and loungers were beautiful. Staff not overly keen on serving hotel guests as they were more interested in the paying public. I think in the height of the season you will not get a sunbed. Nowhere else you can go to either. Negatives. Food was not the best. Breakfast could not fault, everything you could want. Lunch. Very poor, dinner, not much better. Food was never very warm. Presentation poor. Dining room was open until 10pm at night, we went most nights just before 8 and many of the dishes were empty. Desserts plates empty, no cheese, no crackers etc etc. New very very young staff seemed to appear throughout the week. They had not a clue, a measure of wine was a tiny amount in the bottom of your glass, cocktails with no alcohol. 1 bar person serving and a queue of 10 people. All got to learn but a huge amount of training needs before you let them loose on guests. Heard many people commenting. As this was the only bar open in the hotel at night, you had to wait in the Queue. Entertainment seems to be getting moved to the bar up the road, Dinkies, it belongs to hotel, yet you cannot use your A/I bands there. We arrived back to our room late one afternoon, bed had been changed but the sheets were wet. Duvet was damp as was the top and bottom sheet and pillowcases. Bed had obviously been made up with linen not dried correctly. Went to reception to ask for them to change them. Got all the oh I am sorry to only return to room at 10pm to find the receptionist had not reported it to housekeeping. Hence one very unpleasant member of staff came and changed them. We enjoyed the peace and quiet but all the little things then became more and more apparent as the week went on. Hyatt need to get their act together. We did speak to returning guests who now say that this year will be their last as they have taken the soul out of the hotel and it’s all about money. Hyatt standards are normally top notch. It’s a very quiet area but only 20 mins from Mahon. If you want rest, quiet and sunshine, then this area is perfect .

What an excellent holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff a credit to the hotel ! I have food allergies and all ingredients were explained as to what I could have ,there was a brilliant choice,even they offered to cook me anything I wanted separately. The rooms were a good size and we had a good experience in the pool areas even gluten free beer !
