Seven Hotel & Wellness - Gay Men Only

We returned once again to Seven, and as always, it was a wonderful experience. This time, what impressed us the most was the extraordinary improvement in the breakfast offerings. The iconic chef at Seven has outdone himself, creating an incredible buffet – simply the best we’ve ever experienced! It’s truly the best breakfast you could ever imagine: a perfect combination of variety, quality, and attention to detail. That said, we did notice that on the rare occasion when the chef is not present, the quality of the breakfast slightly declines. However, it’s only for a day, so it’s absolutely acceptable in the grand scheme of things. A big shoutout to the staff as well, who are always kind, attentive, and friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back!

This was my first visit to Seven having visited the island many times before. First impressions were excellent. All staff were polite and courteous. The room was clean and modern. The grounds are beautiful and spread out - never a problem to get a sun-bed. The gym is small but perfect for a holiday fitness plan. Breakfast is included and has everything you’d expect. Small touches like staff remembering your coffee preference adds to the experience. I wasn’t half-board but I did eat at the hotel most evenings. I can highly recommended the ‘poke bowls’; I enjoyed the chicken and tuna ones. Exquisitely presented, filling and healthy if you don’t want the usual bloated feeling after a holiday dinner. All that whilst looking out to the mountains in the distance. If you want the lively Yumbo then staff will call a taxi for you for €6. Or you can walk if feeling energetic, about 25mins. I can’t recommend this hotel enough if you appreciate a more classy stay in Gran Canaria - I’ve already rebooked for later in the year.

SORRY : Almost Perfect but NOT. So, this is our second visit to Seven in two years. As you are collected from the airport by private transfer, the only way to do this, arranged by the hotel, you arrive on a warm evening with an even warmer welcome from the staff. A glass of champagne greets you and you move to your suit, unpack and relax. We opted for the suite again and didn’t regret it. Large spacious and well designed. A shower for 4 or more if that’s your preference. Exceptionally clean and of course a good coffee machine and fridge. Breakfast is as always really good,although at busy times the service didn’t meet our experience of last year. Kind staff who are attentive most of the time. Little touches we missed such as they remembered our favourite coffee last year and juice and our names last year, this year not so, and at times the service felt rushed and forgotten about some mornings. The little touches at seven are missing, small but important. This is what makes seven the place it once was. The name and coffee are not the important parts, the lack of attention was the part we missed. We don’t expect it but that’s the difference when the service is beyond your expectations. The day time this year was very different to last year at the resort. Most days relaxing by the pool started well with the hangovers of some of the other guests providing tranquility and peace. This was NOT every day but certainly a lot more often. By lunch time however with hangovers fading, rising like the sun , (not all of the guests), the noise level of ‘pool drinking’ and small groups of guests, meant keep your headphones charged to soften the noise of the staggering few. Far from spoiling anything, it just turns off the relaxed atmosphere to which we had enjoyed so much last year. This was not everyday,but certainly by late afternoon even in the room it could be heard. Party people we are also, but even we need a break from Ibiza sometimes. The afternoon atmosphere changed from last year from the relaxing chilled vibes, soaking up the sun to more of a beach party for those needing a ‘top up’ from the night before. It resembled at times a booze cruise only, no boat or sea. We are NOT anti social people, and indeed enjoy a drink or three, but at times it became uncomfortable as you try to lay and relax. The mix of people this year seemed very different. We opted to leave the resort most afternoons to avoid it, a real shame. Moreover the staff became more tired and seemed less in control. The vibe and overall feel, seems less welcoming unless your famous on Instagram or such like, or even better have an entourage of people around you as was the case for a small but less discreet group who failed to drink water and opted for other sources of self enjoyment. Their hungover agony was at times pleasurable to watch. The danger here is that this once elegant, relaxed and sensational place becomes a hangout for those wanting the bigger and less shall we s

We have stayed at Vista Bonita a few times, the sister hotel to Seven. We always loved it there so decided to try Seven hotel. We were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The pool area is wonderful and the lounger options make it a special place to relax and enjoy the sun. We stayed in a suite bed and breakfast. The real highlight of this hotel is the food. Every meal we had was absolutely incredible. Fantastically high standards and presented beautifully. Top tip. Try the bruschetta. It’s the best I’ve ever had!! Our room was very spacious and clean upon arrival. Furnishings are lovely and the air con is a real treat when you get a little too hot in that GC sunshine. The bed pillows did give me a very bad neck ache but I appreciate that everyone is different and some people may find it very comfy. It simply wasn’t what I was used to but when we go again I’ll take my own memory foam pillow. I only mention this as if you differ from neck or back pain you may want to do the same. Upon arrival they had a drag show for entertainment in the evening. It was the only entertainment once a week which is perfect really as most guys would be heading to the Yumbo etc anyways. The show was really fun and good value for money with the dinner combined. The cocktails were very good!! Especially the pina colada. The staff bring the cocktails to wherever you’re sunbathing during the day which is a real nice touch. The pool was heated and so clean. The jacuzzi was also immaculate and a real nice place to chat to the other guests and make friends. Our only issue throughout our two week stay was that our bed was only changed once. The hotel advertised as every 4 days. We did accidentally forget to place the cleaning sign on the door for one day so perhaps that messed up their cleaning schedule for our room. That said, it did get a little off putting when the bed sheets were not changed. The hotel is a 30 minute walk to the Yumbo and a 35 minute walk to the Maspalomas lighthouse. We quite enjoyed the walks and their pleasant routes. However, if you don’t/ can’t walk long distances the hotel staff are always happy to call a taxi or alternatively there is a taxi rank 5 minute walk away. It’s also in a nice quiet area f Maspalomas so you won’t have issues getting any sleep. On our last day sadly there was not a courtesy room available as it was all fully booked. We sunbathed for a few hours before leaving for the airport. Obviously we wouldn’t want to fly n tanning creams etc so we were very pleasantly surprised the shower facilities in their wellness area. It really meant we had no issue and could enjoy that last few hours stay there. I cannot stress how lovely a time we had at Seven. The wonderful staff make it extra special. We will definitely be staying at Seven again and would recommend it to anyone. What a wonderful experience - I only wished we had stayed sooner! So relaxed and comfortable, not just the rooms but the whole complex. The highlight, though, is probably the staff. From the moment of arrival to departure, they are all so friendly, helpful and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. The whole place just feels so friendly and comfortable. We will return again soon!
