Peter, the owner is the most friendly guy you will ever meet. He met us from the taxi and showed us to the Riad and took his time to tell us things and any questions we asked. Our room, which was small was lovely, more than enough for us. The windows looked down to the centre of the Riad which was so pretty. Our door led straight out on the terrace with lots of plants, comfy seating and a couple of sun loungers with hats you could use and tables where you sat and ate breakfast. The breakfast was so tasty and fresh. We had a meal here on our first night which was delicious cooked by the lovely Karima. The area is only 5 mins to the Souks and about a 15 min walk to the main square. Which is a must of an evening. The staff were and are exceptional nothing is too much trouble for them. So kind and friendly. Hassanne is fantastic and as for Adil and Hamza, they went above and beyond. We had lots of lovely chats and laughs. Thanks again everyone and missing all your smiley faces. As lovers of both cooking and indulging in great food, we chose to take a cooking class during our Morocco visit. Nestled in the heart of Marrakech, the charming riad, Dar Zaman, welcomed us with open arms and an air of authenticity. A British expat, Peter, runs this delightful haven, which is adorned with rich Moroccan décor that tells stories with every detail. Our culinary adventure began with a vibrant stroll through the local market, where Peter guided us in gathering the freshest ingredients for our feast. It was a sensory overload—spices, colors, and sounds dancing in the air. Back at the riad, we were greeted by our charismatic cooking instructors, Hassane and Sakina. Hassane, ever the multi-tasker, also graciously took on the role of photographer, capturing our kitchen escapades with flair. Together, we chopped, mixed, and learned the delicate art of Moroccan cuisine. The result? A meal not just delicious, but deeply connected to the soul of Morocco. As we dined in the serene courtyard, we marveled not only at the flavors on our plates but also at the rich history and tradition behind every spice and technique.
