I'm giving this a 2 out 5 rating, not because of any bad experience, but because of how it compares to other places I've stayed in. First off, I will acknowledge that I'm from the West Coast of North America and am used to different standards which obviously influence how I rate this hotel. My partner and I chose this hotel because we were to board an Amazon cruise the next day and wanted to be close to the Port of Manaus. For closeness to activities, sites, and transportation it's pretty excellent (it was only one block away from the port), however, I advise being aware of the following: 1) If you are not from a hot climate, be prepared for the humid heat. This hotel has A/C in the lobby and in the room we stayed in, but due to gaps and windows that do not close, it only offered some relief. It took me until 1am to fall asleep because my body did not cool down. 2) This is a bare minimum hotel - you get a bed, with two linen sheets, a single pillow, a working shower, a somewhat working toilet, and a really old rickedy door with an unusal key & lock format. What it does offer is a decent complimentary breakfast, roof top views of Manuas and the Rio *****, and a pool which we did not use (too hot outside). 3) If you are used to 4-5 star hotels, go in with very low expectations and only stay for one night. This will allow you to appreciate what is being offered and to have a 'unique' experience. 4) Although located in the Centro, it was difficult to find 'sit in' restaruants, however closer to the Teatro Amazonas (the touristy area), there are more options and Uber is very reliable and will pick up/drop off right in front of the hotel. I have attached some 'realist' photos to provide more insight. I would like to emphasize that we did not have a bad stay, I would actually recommend staying here if you are looking for a cheap one night stay, but just be prepared for an 'experience,' lol.
