Another fun amenity for the island is the "Stumpy Bus", a volunteer-run free shuttle in the form of a decorated 8-seat golf cart. Finding fossilized sharks teeth is a favorite hobby of beach walkers and you will find many among the mounds of shells. Snorkel in the crystal clear water for sand dollars and everything tropical. For all you fishing enthusiasts, the area is the second largest marine estuary in the state. You will find hundreds of species in our waters. Nearby Boca Grand is the official “Tarpon Capital of the World”. The area has dozens of boat ramps so bring your boat. We have plenty of room to park. In addition to being renowned for its fishing, Boca Grande is widley regarded as the most exclusive coastal enclave in Florida and you'll marvel at the historic and famous Gasparilla Inn. Rent a golf cart while you're there and drive down Banyon Street, one of the most famous streets in Florida.
