Banyan Villa Maldives Dhangethi

Great clean guest house located near the main jetty where we visited the baby reef sharks nightly. It was perfect for what our family of four needed. Through the guest house we were able to arrange a dive to snorkel with manta rays and with turtles and they even arranged for us to spend half a day on an abandoned island, which was so special. All at very reasonable prices and without being on a boat with tons of people. All the food was great with a mix of local flavours and western-type dishes, the kids finished their plates at every meal. The staff was very kind and helpful, we will miss them. This was a perfect stay that will forever stay in our hearts. Thank you for making our stay just perfect for us!

The hospitality and promptness of this villa were unmatched. I was greeted at the loading dock after a 1 hr 45 min boat ride for Male airport. On my 3 min walk to the villa, I was accompanied by the manager who provided me history and landmarks of the island all while the locals were enthusiastic about my arrival. The entrance was bright and located next to the 350 year old banyan tree. They were able to load my bags on a cart so I didn’t have to carry them. The garden and eating patio was beautiful with full flowers, clean sand, soft music and an inviting place to sit with other guests. I got settled in my room which was far better than expected. It was good quality and clean with two complimentary water bottles. The bed and pillows were very comfortable which were complimented by the AC. I had plenty of space, storage and outlets. The bathroom was lovely with good water pressure. I got the full meal package and it did not disappoint. The staff was always eager to serve us at each meal and maintained a comforting dining patio with incredible food- my favorite was the curry and tuna noodles. They learned my request and were able to provide without even asking after the first day or two! They also knew my favorite seat. I appreciated the accommodations they made for fellow vegetarians and our to-go lunch on the day I was out for an extended period of time. I felt very safe and had all of my needs met by staying at Banyan Villas.

Very glad to stay at Banyan Villa for our scuba diving trip. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and most meals come with a lovely dessert. The staffs are friendly and happy to share the island stories with us. Transportation to and from the island is well arranged too. Truly 5 star hospitality!

Amazing guesthouse. Very nice staff and they gonna do everything they can to make you happy and feel welcome. I booked many different excursions and they were amazing. We saw whalesharks, mantas, sharks and many fishies. The guesthouse is on a local island which was very nice and all the people there made me feel welcome. It's also very close to the beach. The food is excellent. Very nice and clean rooms and AC.

This was our first time in the Maldives and we wanted to keep accommodation costs on a budget, so we could spend more on activities and try out new experiences. After a bit of research, we found Banyan Villa with quite convincing reviews and decided to contact them directly to make the arrangements. They replied to us quite swiftly and could consult on the most important questions before the journey, so we felt secured and informed from the beginning on. After arriving to Male airport and nearly 2 hours trip on a speed boat (which was actually quite bumpy, so be prepared), we finally came to the Dhangethi island. We were picked up on a pier by a hotel manager who organized a transfer of our luggage to the guesthouse and showed us the main parts of the island while walking to it. After a few formalities and a detailed explanation where to find what on the island we got the keys and could check in in our garden view room. It turned out to be commodious, clean and had all necessary things in it except for a safe, but the manager assured us that it's not necessary and there is a surveillance system outside of the rooms, so that was fine for us. Also later on we noticed that there is no soap provided for general hygiene purposes, but we could get an extra bottle of shower gel instead.👍 After that we had a meal in the villa, nicely prepared and pretty delicious. It tastes more like a homemade dish rather then a usual hotel-like food, but we actually appreciated it even more because of this. You can really taste local food there. In the coming days we had different types, usually fish and everything was tasty and prepared with love. A big thank you to the cook there! Btw a small tip: ask the guys to prepare you a maldivian breakfast, it's amazing. I wish we did this earlier and not only on the last days. And another tip: try out night fishing, it's not only fun to do so, but also guys will grill you the fish you catch on coconut shells, that's really something to try out. So we left our belongings in the room, picked beach towels provided to us and headed to a beach. It's good to mention that there are 2 types of beaches: touristic one also known as a bikini beach and a local one where you should be covered (i.e. it's not allowed to wear close where one could see a swimming suit underneath). The bikini beach is public for all tourists staying on the island, but it's not very occupied, there were around 15 people tops at the same time. You can find wooden sunbeds there if needed. Sand there is trully white, water is clean, warm and looks amazing, like on the pictures. The only downside is that it's pretty fleet, no more than 60 cm at the deepest point.. but that seems to be normal for Maldives. We found a deeper spot in 10 minutes walking/swimming distance in direction to the local beach far end. Aside from that, we tried out many different activities: snorkeling, diving, fishing and so on. Beautiful villas, immersed in lovely gardens with exotic plants. The best hospitality and genuine local experience. Very clean and airy. Very comfortable for a diving holiday. A budget friendly place for those looking for a nice local experience!

Очень рады были побывать в таком прекрасном месте! Отличный хозяин, дружелюбные ребята, всегда помогут, повар- супер, очень крутой! 👍 Фото соответствуют, номера большие, места для размещения вещей много. С горячей водой проблем не было, запаха из канализации тоже не наблюдали, есть чайник, холодильник, чай и кофе в номере, водичку дали только при заезде, наверное принято так. Рядышком на входе/выходе в гест - шикарное дерево баньян, как в фильме аватар 😍 Об острове: Не переживайте по поводу масок, не нужно их носить везде на такой жаре. По поводу организации трансфера администраторы помогут, да и вообще помогут в любом вопросе. Спасибо за приём и гостеприимство 🤗 С уважением, Валентина

La gentilezza, la professionalità e la sincera disponibilità di Assadh e di tutto lo staff vi lasceranno senza parole e valgono senz'altro la scelta. Guest house piccola nel centro dell'isola con 5 camere e un grazioso giardino, noi abbiamo optato per la garden view, che consiglio; spaziosa, confortevole, ben illuminata, funzionale e pulita. Letto comodo con doppi cuscini. Doccia ampia con acqua calda, shampoo e shower gel. A vostra disposizione beach towel, un super phon, frigobar, un comodissimo armadio, bollitore con the e caffè, wi-fi performante, ma soprattutto l'aria condizionata!! Zanzare in giardino molte, chiedete lo zampirone ;-) per la spiaggia armatevi di repellente.. Avevamo pensione completa, cibo semplice ma buono, anche se un po' ripetitivo e misurato. In caso di richieste particolari loro faranno il possibile per accontentarvi. In generale ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Isola kids friendly :-) Le escursioni sono il fiore all'occhiello. Shalley e la sua crew sono bravissimi, con loro squalo balena assicurato! I loro video e foto sono spettacolari!! Non perdetevi le mante, lo snorkeling al coral reef e la lingua di sabbia :-) Dhangethi rispetto ad altre local islands ci è sembrata più pulita e curata, anche se troverete materiale da costruzione un po' ovunque e pezzi di plastica purtroppo anche in mare. Come sempre abitanti molto carini, discreti e accoglienti. La bikini beach ok, un po' stretta ma pulita, sabbiosa, con dei bei colori e riparata dal vento (perfetta per i bimbi). In base alle correnti qualche alga. Peccato per i pochi lettini, quasi tutti rotti. Il reef bruttino. Un grazie speciale ad Hassan con cui eravamo in contatto per il Mala boutique Inn, che ci ha seguito per mesi con pazienza e lungimiranza, trovando sempre la soluzione per noi migliore e rassicurandoci ad ogni imprevisto Covid. Grazie ancora ad Assadh per averci fatto sentire parte della sua famiglia..we'll never forget you e choukouriya!!

Estuvimos 23 días en Dhangethi, alojados en éste acogedor y bonito hotel. La habitación súper amplia, todo muy nuevo,y limpio, tienes un balcón privado con tumbona y mesa con sillas. En un precioso jardín. El personal genial,muy trabajadores y responsables, te hacen sentir como en casa, Mohamed es un gran anfitrión,y Aaron un magnífico chef, nosotros fuimos con pensión completa,y fue un acierto. También está el manager (no recuerdo bien su nombre) que está pendiente de todo,y otro trabajador del hotel que tampoco recuerdo su nombre y también genial. Todos los trabajadores son súper amables . Y el hotel muy bien. -Recomiendo 100x100 y repetiría con mucho gusto.
