I don't know why this hotel thinks it's 4*, or why it is so expensive. 3* at best. It's way out from the centre of Madrid, and there's nothing to do, or places to eat, in the immediate area. The hotel itself is shabby and in need of cleaning and redecoration. The outside surfaces are peeling, to the extent that it looks like the hotel was abandoned years ago. The carpet in the corridor is an ill fitting jigsaw of offcuts, badly laid, not glued down, with the concrete of the building showing through the gaps. My room contained two broken lamps, with the shades torn, and one with a broken bulb. There was a small fridge in the room, but no free bottled water, and the tap water was not drinkable. I had to buy water at the bar downstairs, €2, with no lid. The bed was advertised as a queen sized bed, but was in fact two unconnected single beds pushed together, which separated easily on the tiled floor. Breakfast was basic and indifferent. There were no English TV channels available. On the positive side, the reception staff were friendly, the WiFi worked, and the bed, small as it was, was comfortable.
