Travelodge Stoney Cross Lyndhurst

The hotel was cheap to stay in which was great for our one night stay and it was in a good location for us which was easily accessible and with plenty of free parking. However, improvements do need to be made. Our check in was smooth and quick but we were missing additional things you usually get with a Travelodge. The receptionist was nice but wasn't able to answer many questions and didn't seem enthusiastic to go out of his way to help. The shower leaked water all over the floor as the curtain is too short and the hotel said they do not provide bath mats. This is a health and safety risk when the floor gets so wet. I had to go out of my way to ask for an additional towel to put on the floor. The bathroom fan was filthy and had obviously been like this for some time. A tea/coffee cup and spoon hadn't been cleaned at all. It was good that a fan had been left on in our room on arrival as it was a very hot day but it could have done with an airing by having windows open. There was a specific area of corridor in the hotel that had a foul smell each time we went through it. It was great that the hotel had secondary glazing which did block out a lot of the traffic noise from the motorway and we did sleep well but the online information should really say that the hotel is right next to a three lane section of busy road. The hotel and staff could do with a little more TLC.

Very little in way of facilities. No where to have a drink or food. And room had a bad odour at first, but think we got used to it.

Polite and friendly staff, Bethany and Harry were very helpful and made our stay comfortable. Good location as you are in the new forest and can get to Bournemouth in 20 minutes. Would recommend. Not far from Rufus Stone and the amazing views there.

The room we stayed in was too small. When we questioned we were told all the rooms in the hotel are of that size. It's on the dual carriageway. If you need to travel on the other side then you need to make a 15 mile trip. Not very well signposted. Reception is not manned all the time. Worst experience

Although quite full, mainly of travelling sales men and workmen with vans etc, not inviting for couples/families. Would not use Travelodge in future

Wouldn’t use travel lodge again When asked if I canceled my breakfast to go I was told I wouldn’t be charged , I have been charged and they won’t refund . Being told I’d not be charged for it I thought fair enough . If I’d known that I wouldn’t have canceled it , I’d have just took it for the kids Only reason we cancels it was because I accidentally thought it was breakfast at first then realised they didn’t have restaurant so was breakfast to go Customer service is shocking wouldn’t stay with them again
