I've stayed in this hotel a number of times, and I've always been OK with it. Maybe I've never stayed in a "classic" room before, because the room was absurdly small. It started badly. I struggled to book an airport pickup because I made the mistake of traveling over the weekend, and they required me to send in a full flight itinerary. Unfortunately, the email I sent it to was the reservations email, and they had closed for the weekend. Eventually, I asked a friend in Lusaka to intervene, and they agreed to pick me up. The driver, a local taxi, showed up 30 minutes late driving an old beat up vehicle that normally would cost $10 from the airport. The hotel charged me $40 for the privilege. Then the room - Let me paint a picture of how small the room is - neither my sportcoat nor my shirts could fit into the closet. There was no place to keep my clothes other than in my suitcase. The bathroom was so tiny, there was no hook to hang a towel. The "desk" was just barely deep enough to accommodate a 13" laptop. For someone transiting through, maybe staying for 6-8 hours, or even a single night, this might be ok. But as I was meant to stay a week, this was impossible. I didn't give this hotel one star because the hotel staff was so nice and pleasant. Nonetheless, I checked out the next morning for a hotel with more space. I'll remain loyal to IHG, but skip this hotel.

The key to this hotel's success is the staff. This was my second stay. They are always friendly and welcoming. Not a single bad interaction with any staff member. Alway helpful and thoughtful. Food is fine. I like their burgers and their breakfast is excellent.

Excellent - very friendly, hospitable , and professional staff, from the security at the entrance to the reception, to housekeeping, etc. Clean comfortable rooms, free high-speed WiFi access. Great location. Great conference facilities hosting a meeting of over 200 participants. Expansive parking spaces.

The quality of the food was good but the service was so sad. I think no one wants to work. The manager was missing . When I demanded to see the manager, the white who was serving us suddenly became the manager. For a 5 star hotel, they don't have half the things on the menu. There c was absolutely no remorse - Paid 4k for a dissapointing night . What a waste of a intercontinental hotel image ..

A true 5 star experience in the city of Lusaka. Clean friendly and fine cuisine. Excellent stay all round. Attentive staff create a feeling that you are the center of their day and are a delight to be with. The quality of the room is world class. I absolutely recommend this hotel

The hotel room we got was a family suite that served its purpose for a family with an infant. The food at breakfast was also good and well prepared to top it off you have a decent view as you eat. The room service was prompt whenever called upon. Everything was seamless.

the hotel made big change after evading the hotel to 2 hotel intercontinental and holiday in now it is top class but after you back in the hotel the place is with zero activity if you look for fun or Musick it is not the right place if you look for having no disturb this is your place

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Intercontinental for a conference. Staff super attentive and helpful throughout my stay. Room was exquisite - so comfortable and spotlessly clean. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinners delicious. Highly recommended!

I’ve been staying at the Intercontinental Lusaka for many years now. The hotel has very pleasant staff, who are very welcoming. The hotel is well laid out. The rooms are very comfortable. The pool and gym are nicely laid out. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Lusaka

Enjoyed my staycation with my 5 yo son. However, standards slipping a little compared to when we were there 4 months ago - no welcome drinks on arrival, check-in took 15-20 min although we were the only ones there (had to wait for housekeeping to ensure the room was ready, this is despite us showing up after check-in time of 3pm) no flower(s) in a vase in their premium room - was really lovely to have that before, no waste paper baskets in the sitting area or bathroom. Had dinner at their restaurant and again disappointing - ordered the mix seafood grill, and breakfast too was just bland. 4/10 for the food. Their restaurant staff may need a refresher training, they are also slipping compared to our last visit. the hotel was not busy so I'm unsure why service was not 10/10. Great gym and swimming area 10/10 for these, although the rain spoilt the latter on our first day there.

We had a very nice evening on Valentine’s Day . Delicious startters, main dishes from asian to Italian plus desserts, amazing music,ambiance and atmosphere, It was a lovely and so romantic night, Thank u Lusaka InterContinental Hotel 🌺🌺
