Disappointed and Frustrated Stay!!!
We recently stayed at Rydges Hunter Valley and were extremely disappointed with the experience. Despite booking and paying in advance for a twin room, we were given a king bed instead. We clearly stated we were friends, not a couple, but the manager simply told us that twin rooms were “subject to availability” — which was never mentioned during booking. Her response? Either take the king bed or cancel and get a refund to go elsewhere. No empathy, no help — just plain rude and dismissive.
We booked three rooms and requested to be placed closer together, yet we were assigned rooms in separate blocks, even though it was clear the hotel wasn't full. The room we got seemed neglected — the door lock wasn’t working properly and there were flying insects inside, which made it feel unclean and unwelcoming.
This is far from the standard we expected from Rydges. Poor customer service, lack of communication, and no willingness to accommodate reasonable requests. Would not recommend and definitely won't be returning.
