Rocaminori Hotel

Staying in this cave hotel was a unique and highly enjoyable experience. Our room was very comfortable and well-equipped. And it’s in a cave! The proprietors are very friendly and welcoming. Dinner in the cave restaurant was extremely atmospheric with simple, tasty food, local wine and very friendly service. The nice breakfast is served in another cave which is equally atmospheric. Highly recommended!

We had two rooms in this welcoming, family-run hotel. We were warmly received and shown to our rooms, both of which were unique and unlike any hotel room we had ever stayed in before. Beds were really comfortable, and cleaning was immaculate. It's quite a thing to sleep in a cave - the darkness and stillness. Rooms were well ventilated, and had natural light in some parts. Shower room was at the back of the cave, and really good. Breakfast was in a dedicated set of caves in the complex. Candle lit breakfast with a good range of options and an attentive hostess. Internet reception was very good. We'd recommend eating in the restaurant also in the complex, again in a dedicated cave complex. You only need to eat there once as it's a set menu, but with a mid-course tour of the on site bakery, and an opportunity to tour yet more caves, again, something you'll never forget. The hotel are happy to make great recommendations for alternative local dinner reservations. We couldn't recommend this small, unique, family hotel highly enough.

We loved this unique troglodyte (cave) hotel near Saumur. It is such a different experience. The hotel is quiet, clean, comfortable and surprising by its architecture. The service is attentive and friendly and the owners are working really hard to make your stay memorable.

This short stay had been offered to us so we knew nothing about this small hotel with only 12 rooms, as soon as we had put down our suitcases I really did not feel well, I needed to go out, we can understand that some customers like this total change of scenery but not us, I am a doctor and I need someone to contact me 24 hours a day, but my mobile phone had no connection, neither telephone nor internet, it was too late to leave the hotel that we left the next morning, it was my worst night in a hotel, sorry

My children (8 and 12) say they will always remember sleeping and eating (and watching TV) in a cave! This family business is so friendly and attentive. They accommodated both kids and vegetarians for a delicious dinner (sooo full!!) and a beautiful breakfast selection. The rooms were quiet and the mattresses were comfortable, even for our fussy sleeper. The owners were able to communicate with us in English, a nice surprise since our French leaves much to be desired. A great value for your money and a wonderful memorable experience. Highly recommend!!

What an amazing hotel!! The family taking care of it is super nice and willing to help with anything! The breakfast was very good and served in an unique location! Please don’t think twice about booking this hotel! We’ll worth every penny! We’ll be back. Julia

So pleased with our short stay in this wonderful hotel. Run by a super friendly family who made us very welcome. We stayed in a cave which was beautiful and extremely comfortable with all mod cons. Excellent food for both dinner and breakfast- highly recommend!

This is a beautiful family-run hotel in the troglodyte village of Rochemenier. We have stayed before and loved it so much that we made our detour on our last trip just so we could stay again. The rooms are lovely and comfy and the food in the restaurant is amazing - make sure you are hungry when you go as there is a lot of delicious food to eat. We stayed after a trip to Puy du Fou which is about an hour south. It was also excellent value for money.
