The Myriad Hotel

Cute place with a nice bar/coffee bar. Barrista was very nice. Desk staff, not so much. It's not so much that they are rude, but they really give off a vibe that they don't care that much. When we checked in, I came back down to the lobby to let the staff know that the light on the wall switch by the door did not work. Had to fumble our way into the room to find another light to turn on. She said she would look at it, but no one was available to fix anything on the weekend. It was never addressed and no offer to move to another room was made. Also, the knob for one of the bedside lamps was missing. The room was cute, with a nice bath. But it was damp - in the evening when we would return to our room our clothes felt cool and damp. Weird. The gotcha was the appearance on our bill of pool charges. When we got home, we found there were charges on our bill for the pool! Try reading the website - it is totally unclear that they charge guests of the hotel for the pool. So we end up paying $300 a night and the pool is extra? Nothing irks me more than hidden charges that are tacked onto the bill after the fact. Buyer beware.

I LOVED The Myriad for so many reasons. 1), the location is great. It’s in the Highlands neighborhood which is filled with funky shops, Irish bars, bourbon bars (naturally), and tattoo shops. I could have spent the entire weekend just on Baxter street. There’s a very cool locals dive bar on the corner that is open until 4am. 2) the staff - everyone, from the 24 hour door staff to housekeeping, the pool attendants, and the barista were just super nice and laid back. They made me feel like family. 3) the rooms - very comfortable bed with high quality linens, a cute, vintage looking fridge in the mini bar, high ceilings, vintage hard wood floors, great lighting, vintage mosaic tile in the bathroom, modern fixtures. It was great. Reminded me of the antique apartment I loved so much in my 20s except everything worked. lol 4) VERY quiet - with all the bars around I expected more noise, but I heard nothing. Not from the bars, not from the other guests. They must have some pretty top notch soundproofing 5) Excellent pool - it’s small, but really cute and inviting. The pool has a DJ on the weekends which was super fun. There were a bunch of locals who’d purchased day passes - there was a bday party and a bachelorette on the day I was there, so it’s a great place to meet people if that’s what you’re into. I rarely rave about hotels. They always manage to be close but not quite perfect, even when I’ve done a lot of research, but I honestly don’t have a single tip for them to improve. This is now the only place I’ll stay when I’m in Louisville.

Only stayed here for a night, but will definitely be back! Very cute room, comfy bed, and amazing pool area. It is also in a great location. Many restaurants close by, coffee shops, and other shops to explore. We also got into town early, and the lady at the front desk was very nice & accommodating and got us set up with a room before our check in time. Great experience!! Loved our time there.

Just returned from a fantastic first trip to Louisville and I can't wait to come back. The Myriad Hotel was such a delight. It's new, fresh, clean, and cool while still maintaining aspects of its industrial past. I love when a hotel shows care for its guests with thoughtful attention to details. The staff were super nice and accommodating. And the pool - the weekend vibes were a blast! Locals and visitors alike would also love the two onsite restaurants (I'm going to be thinking about my meals at Paseo for months.) The Myriad is located in a fun and walkable part of town which is another bonus. After a long day of exploring the city there is nothing like taking a refreshing shower and crawling into clean and crisp sheets. The bed is next-level comfortable. I'm looking forward to another stay here.
