When we arrived we were unable to check in as our room was apparently being cleaned. We did not mind at all and were happy to wait. The receptionist told us that we could leave our bags in reception or chap the door of the room and ask the guests if we could leave our bags in there whilst they were still there. We thought this was odd. When we got into our room it was very apparent that it had not been cleaned in a long, long time. There was food (fish) leftover in the fridge/freezer. The fridge itself was filthy. The shower and bathroom had ants and dust gathering and there was no soap (we had to purchase this ourself as the receptionist was gone and we could not ask for more). The bed was stained and sheets were dirty with hairs and marks on them. You could feel the springs of the bed as you sat on it. There were no plugs for charging anything - we had to unplug the fridge to charge our phone. Upon checking out, we advised reception of the state of our room and our genuine disgust at the lack of cleanliness. The receptionist could not have been more unhelpful and disinterested. We received a phone call this evening advising the only ‘compensation’ they could offer was a 50% discount next time we stayed. We would definitely not stay here again, even if it were free. The hotel did not seem to care either way about our experience. We are not fussy, however it is not too much to expect that somewhere is clean and you have soap to wash your hands (Especially in times like these). I would give this place less than 1 star if I could. Overall a dreadful stay and we would encourage everyone to avoid this place.
