Inverness Terrace Serviced Apartments by Concept Apartments

Returned to the room late approx 10.40pm to find the smoke detector beeping every 20 seconds so I called their out of hours number (theres no staff on site), she said she couldnt hear beeping even though it was loud in the room, then said they'd send a night porter to fix it. Thankfully it stopped approx 40mins later, before the porter arrived leaving me with a headache. So I phoned back to tell them in case they turned it off remotely or it needed a new battery. She seemed perturbed I called her again as if i'm the one inconveniencing her! Porter arrived and although polite, he had no clue about the detector or what the problem was but brushed the sensor with a broom. As he didnt know if it would beep again I asked him if he could turn it off so I could sleep reassured it wouldnt start again in the night, he declined saying h&s, we werent sure it was even on anymore anyway so we left it there unresolved. Could not sleep well for the threat of beeping again and whether i'd have to wake someone up or sit in the street all night. Really uncomfortable situation. It started beeping again approx 8am waking me up, called the daytime number and asked for it to be fixed properly while I was out. Heard no update they fixed it until I asked for an update in the afternoon around 2.30 and they responded that it was fixed -no apology. When listening back to the phone recordings that night they didnt offer a single apology. After checking out I decided to email a complaint, asking for a refund of that one night, they declined, wrongly stating that the matter was resolved that night and the inconvenience only lasted less than an hour! I reminded that it wasn't resolved, the beeping temporarily stopped before the porter got there and he didnt know how to resolve it or change the battery so we just left it! No reply. I reminded them again of their error but they didn't address it, nor offer an apology, declining to respond further. The smoke detectors should be serviced in good time and batteries changed when needed, not to wait for them to start beeping in guest-time. Completely unprofessional and rude outfit. The room wasnt that good anyway to justify the high price, mouldy bathroom and noisy traffic at night through the non-insulated balcony door. Do not book with this outfit, not under any circumstance.

Disgraceful, poor customer service, only one person on reception for check in Had to provide photographic ID on arrival, they copy this and also charge you a £200 damage waiver, which is ironic considering the apartment was damaged throughout Shower door didn’t shut so flooded bathroom Provided bare minimum two cups, two spoons, two forks, two plates ( you get the idea) No coffee or tea Dirty mattress Stains throughout apartment, chips and dents Would not give me a refund when I complained, was merely told the apartments were being refurbished in September ( because that makes it okay?) Overpriced, poor standard and nothing like the photos on booking Avoid!

I recently stayed at MSK Serviced apartments , 32,Inverness terrace on a recent last minute trip with a group of ladies and was apprehensive about staying after reading some mixed reviews. On arrival were were impressed with how clean and tidy the general area was and the building we stayed in was very clean. Check in was quick and stress free, as stated they take a security deposit and refund once checks have been done ( not heard anything to the negative yet so hopefully this will be sorted soon ) We stayed in apartment number 4 in the basement and were surprised at the general look of the place. There were 3 singles and 1 double bed ,a bathroom and a small kitchen area. There's a cupboard in with hangers ,a hairdryer and iron and board. We were 5 ladies sharing and found the beds comfortable and the bathroom to be of a good standard. The bathroom faces a small yard and has frosted glass window and we were concerned when we heard a group of men in the yard late on The night we arrived,but we didn't have any issues. The kitchen area has cups ,glasses and plates/bowls but no tea towels or cutlery, I think these are available on request. The lack of cutlery wasn't a problem As we mainly stayed out during our stay . There's only 1 mirror in the bathroom so I'd suggest taking a spare one for groups sharing. If you're thinking of booking ,you should know that the properties have both long stay and short stay residents ,the wall are quite thin so you can hear others around you ,they can get a little warm and if staying in the basement rooms you'll probably hear the tubes running under you. All in all though ,we had a very comfortable stay for the price we paid and would happily stay there again if visiting the city.
