"Excellent stay, staff were polite and friendly, Becky was excellent at breakfast, certainly could do with a pay rise. Breakfast was busier than dinner, yet she was on her own, in the evening there were 3 working. Air con was a blessing in the room, lovely to come back to a cold room."

"We ate here last night. I had a Beef & Stilton pie, my wife had a Prawn Curry, our friends a fake Hake (halloumi) and Chicken Rogan Josh. The food was absolutely exemplary. The staff / owners were friendly, helpful and professional. We would definitely return to the sportsman’s Valley Hotel. We didn’t stay here so can’t comment on the accommodation but food and service was excellent."

"Love this place. Wonderful location just 2 or 3 miles outside Liskeard. Only 25 minutes from the beautiful seaside town of Looe. Very peaceful. Lovely grounds including a fishing lake, tennis courts and a waterfall. We stayed in the villa that is adapted for people with mobility problems. It has a large wet room with a raised toilet. Full sized double bedroom on the ground floor. Upstairs has 2 further bedrooms, one a huge double with a great balcony and the other a huge room with 2 singles. Also a family bathroom with sauna room, too. Overall it's a great place to use as a base to explore Cornwall and Devon."

"Really lovely evening here last night. Beautiful food, in taste and presentation. I had lemon sole on a bed of samphire with perfectly cooked veg. Very friendly, helpful staff, great views, community oriented I would've loved to try the locally-sourced scallops with black pudding if they had not been dredged. Was grateful to member of staff who found this out for me. Love to eat great food but not at the expense of damaging the sea bed. Try a source that uses divers instead? Thank you for a perfect evening"
