We booked online for 2 nights. The listing had shown their better rooms - which is expected - and pictures of the standard breakfast bar that Super 8s typically have for their free breakfast (waffle bar, cereal station, etc). Upon arrival, there is a smell in the hotel which we couldn't place. We later discovered traces in the hotel that showed signs of previous smoke/fire damage. We suspect that may have been the cause of the smell. We were told not to expect our room to be cleaned the next day, because they wouldn't do it. Once in the room, we were welcomed to poor cleaning conditions. For example, the A/C was cluttered with unidentified debris (which created concern for the air that we were breathing), and there were bodily fluids splattered everywhere (i.e. in the lamp shade, all over the walls, etc.). This is amongst many other things. The toilet wasn't leveled, and the shower was leaking nonstop. There were holes in the walls, and in the bathroom door. Also, the main door to the room had a gap at the top of the door which allowed people to see into the room. This created safety and privacy concerns. The outside locks into the building are also broken, so there is no security. Another safety concern was that the battery insert for the smoke detector was pulled out of the detector, which showed that there were no batteries in it. We are aware that we weren't booking a high end hotel, however, we had stayed at other Wyndham hotels before, and trusted that we would be in good hands based on previous experiences. When we went down for breakfast, we were offered 2 old granola bars (they were discolored once opened) and gas station muffins. Nothing like the waffle bar their listing had. At this point, we were very disappointed. We wrote a complaint to the parent company (Wyndham), which we suspect immediately got forwarded to the main office of the hotel. Rather than rectifying the issues or working with us, they asked us to leave the hotel within 20 minutes. We were completely shocked. This left us stranded. They did claim that they would process a refund for the second day that we booked, but we are still waiting for it. There is so much more we could write about. Their listing is filled with lies. They are advertising services that they do not have. This is not okay. This was such a disappointing and upsetting experience.
